Lagoon Beach Penthouse

Spacious, fully equipped apartment, with stunning views of the ocean and Table Mountain. About 20 minutes by car from the center of Cape Town. Good security.

Unfortunately, there were many hidden shortcomings. 1. The apartment has no air conditioning, which must make it very uncomfortable in summer. At the same time, it has no proper heating. We stayed there during the last weeks of April and actually slept in the cold. This was made even worse by a broken window, which took some days to be repaired. For an apartment in this price range, that is simply not acceptable. 2. The location is far from ideal. The apartment is located in a large, low-quality apartment building in a semi-industrial area. No shops or restaurants in the neighborhood, except for the restaurant of the nearby Lagoon Beach Hotel. 3. The sea in front of the apartment block is polluted and the water is ice cold, so you cannot swim there. The swimming pool belonging to the block is useless: far too small, and the water there is also ice cold. 4. The apartment has no open terrace, as shown in the pictures. The terrace has been closed off with a primitive plastic construction. It may open partially, but it certainly does not feel solid. It is more like a garden room than a terrace. 5. Communication with Albert, the local caretaker, was difficult. He never answers his phone and replies with a delay ranging from two hours to two days. So if you have an urgent problem, you are on your own. 6. Communication with Host Agents, the company that rents the apartment, was difficult and frustrating. Lots of apologies for all the problems, but unwilling to compensate for the many shortcomings of this apartment. Conclusion: large, fully equipped apartment with excellent views, but far below reasonable expectations. This apartment does not qualify as a luxury penthouse, as the price suggests. The property needs upgrading, especially in terms of heating and air conditioning. Above all, it needs clear information and an honest presentation of its limitations.

The accommodation was presented in superb condition, with everything that you would initially require already catered for.

I liked and enjoyed everything. The apartment is very comfortable and clean as well . Everything is inside, so you can feel home ! The view is memorable .

The electricity was keeping on switching off , so I had the job to check the electricity box every hour .
