La chica que me atendió fue muy amable y me ofrecieron la cocina y café de cortesía.

El agua para la ducha es poca la que cae y en lo personal no pude regularla entre caliente y helada. Al final cae bien caliente y dificulta bañarse. En la segunda planta la ultima noche no estaba cayendo el agua era la una de la mañana

Everyrhing was good

Hostel Leon is a home stay with extremely nice and helpful host family, in a very convenient part of Quetzaltenango. The large mall with Walmart and a cinema is a few blocks away, easy to walk to, and Xelapan Tinajon. one of Xelas wonderful bakeries, is a 2 minute walk. The bed was very comfortable and small toilet was right outside.

The shower wasn't hot enough to my taste, and the shower head was set high up.

There were no lockers or locks on the door, and unfortunately, $120 USD was stolen from my room. I had a strange experience with the owner, who messaged me after checkout to say I’d overpaid $1.20—odd, but I was in a rush to leave for a hike. Later that day, I returned briefly to collect the change, as I was still in the area. It wasn’t until I arrived at my next accommodation that I realized my book, which held the $120, was missing. I’d been carrying it safely that way for over two years. I messaged to ask if it had been found during cleaning, but unsurprisingly, it hadn’t. As a backpacker, that money means a lot. I also know it’s more than two months rent for the room so I can see how it may not have ‘been found’. Yes, I made a mistake, but the circumstances were very unfortunate. They tried to suggest it was another guest but that doubt it was the case due to use being on different floors of the property.

The breakfast that was included was good.

The cold water in the shower which meant going to bed freezing. Also, the constant barking of street dogs right outside the property throughout the night. There also isn’t a balcony, you are essentially sleeping in a garage.

The hosts were so kind! When I accidentally left my water bottle in the room before a trek, they dropped it to the hiking company’s office on the other side of town to make sure it got to me! Such impeccable service, I’m so grateful. Thank you!
