Sculpture Park Cottage

Where do I start, I had a fire lit for me after one of the longest days at work, food in the fridge, bread in the bread bin! Just everything I needed! The hosts are so so kind. I wanted for nothing. Felt so homely and cosy. What a beautiful place! I will be back hopefully when I can spend more down time on the area. John asked me the next day if I slept top! And I absolutely did! Thank you again!

This is a traditional stone cottage, cared-for with a cosy feel yet good sized rooms. Our host, Geoff came and said a friendly hello and would have readily lit the old kitchen range for us, but unfortunately we were out and about too much to make it worthwhile. In addition to the basics you'd expect, the hosts went the extra mile and supplied lovely breakfast groceries including bread, eggs, cheese and preserves, along with a bottle of wine, which made us feel very welcome.

Location to Penistone with parking and a Warm greeting with a roaring fire on arrival

Great location for us to explore family history. Interesting old farmhouse with thick stone walls which kept it cool in hot weather.

It would have been helpful to have a handrail on the stairs particularly as the treads vary in depth and we are quite elderly .

Everything! Beautiful cottage in superb location. Hosts Geoff and his wife could not have been more helpful and friendly. Hope your back improves Geoff ❤️. Location was perfect for us - so quiet and peaceful and yet so close to amenities with amazing pubs and cricket club so close by. The patio area was beautiful in a morning for our breakfast. Inside the cottage was stunning and superbly equipped - so many treats left for us! Thankyou! Crisps and some toast were just what we needed when we arrived! We travelled with our two adult sons and there was plenty of room for our airbed in the lounge for the youngest. Log burner was lit for us when we arrived and the details about using your coal were easy to understand and very fair. This cottage is really luxurious but quirky at the same time and in a really spectacular position. Would gladly stay again.

We had a very friendly welcome on arrival and help to lay the fire and stove which made the cottage warm and comfortable , although there is also background central heating too. The owner lives adjacent and was available to help if needed. I liked the original features of the cottage, the range in the kitchen and beamed ceilings. The outlook and gardens are lovely , with plentiful birdsong and minimal traffic noise. The welcome pack was much appreciated and the kitchen had everything we needed .

No complaints at all. Perhaps a bit more information on the website about features like accessibility might be useful as it would not suit anyone with a disability due to fairly steep stairs and a step between rooms. Not a complaint, just a suggestion!
