Ann Village

It's the 2nd time that I am going there. It is resourcing to be in this orchard. I just hope they won't keep building concrete floors/rooms/buildings because the real charm of this place is that it is surrounded by nature with only tents (which are very confortable).

That they are starting to cover the floor with tiles and concrete. The beauty of this place is that it is an orchard filled with nature only. Please leave it this way otherwise you will just become an other hotel like the others.

Let me get one thing out of the way: the place is AMAZING if you want to experience the Mekong delta close up. If you are the kind of tourist who doesn't mind trading a bit of comfort for a cool experience, then this is the place for you. And the bungalow where we stayed was clean, had nice amenities and was right af the waterfront. The area is simply fantastic. The staff (especially the manager) were all super friendly, and generally we had a great experience. We took a tour to the floating market, though that was a little disappointing in some ways (more on that in a minute).

You should be prepared that this is a village. And in a village there are roosters. And if you have a rooster with a bad internal clock, the rooster will wake you up at 3am. Which is what happened to us. Not cool, but that's part of the experience. Then there's the tour we took via Ann Village. It was not cheap for two people, and for the price I would have expected at least someone who speaks a little English. Our tour guide was very nice, but communication was a challenge and we had many questions during our trip which went unanswered. Finally, the experience at checkout was terrible. Between the tour, a scooter we rented and some other things, we had a hefty bill, so I didn't have enough cash at checkout. And their card reading machine was "broken". So we had to go to the nearest ATM in a rush, which 20min by scooter away, quickly because we had to catch a flight. In the end we had to pay in euros. Not a great experience, so be prepared to bring cash. Maybe general advice for anyone going a bit off the main cities in Vietnam.

Charming bungalow with crooked floor

The location is wonderfull for nature lovers. You need to cross a hanging bridge over the river to get to the tents which are located next to the river. Each tent has their own hammocks. Enjoying the sunset from these hammocks is amazing 🤩. I was very tired when i arrived, the personnel were so nice and took really good care of me.

The menu is limited.

The staff were great, Thanh was attentive and keen to resolve any issues. The food at the restaurant was very enjoyable. Our son enjoyed fishing and the overall experience.

The mattresses were dreadful in the tents, like being on a board. General cleaning of the shower/toilet block and bins not attended to over our 3 days. Path from tent to toilets flooded, so we had to walk through water when leaving the tent . Food at the restaurant was very expensive although large servings. There are no other real options in walking distance for food. The pool was not in working order, half full, and looked to be in need of repair.

Nice place near Can tho, Richard is a good host, always available and ready to help.

We stayed in a glamping "unit". We were the only guests for our 3 day stay so we had 100% attention. This is a rustic experience on the very edge of the confluence of 2 small rivers. We experienced more bird life here than anywhere else in Vietnam. The host (Richard) was amazing and went out of his way to ensure our every comfort. There is the usual communication difficulties if you don't know Vietnamese but seriously we could make it work. All meals were available with an extensive local menu. They would prepare anything we wanted even if it was not on the menu. All fruit, vegetables and meat & fish was purchased daily from the local market. We wanted a laid back experience after cycling over 500kms prior to our arrival here. We absolutely got it.

We loved the nature around but people there- amazing! Everyone were so smiled and helpful. There was a man who picked bananas and papaya for us from the garden, that was so lovely. There are also bikes and boats you can borrow for free, which is amazing. It’s pretty close to the fruit market, around 15 mins by bike.
