Its in a great location lovely walks close by. The hosts are helpful and left milk and bread etc which was really helpful. It was very comfortable and clean and we had a really relaxing break.

This exceptional Air B&B was above and beyond our expectations. The welcome from our host Marie included leaving us bread, milk, butter, eggs, jam and biscuits, so no emergency dash to the shop. There is everything you could require waiting for you on arrival and the decor and furniture are beautifully presented and so comfortable too. Marie was so helpful from suppling local taxi numbers to recommending places to eat. Beautiful Air B&B for relaxing and exploring the surrounding area.

There is absolutely nothing to say here it was sheer perfection. It would hard to improve the experience of staying at the Poppy Annexe.

Booked the B&B for a wedding weekend and it offered much more than I had expected. Extremely well equipped with everything you can think off and also bigger than what you expect from the pictures. Marie was lovely showing me around and offered her advise. Highly recommended for everyone who is looking for a cozy B&B in the area

When I arrived there was butter and a pint of milk in the fridge and on the counter a loaf of bread along with eggs, oil for frying them, jam and a pack of chocolate biscuits which was very welcome. (There’s also facilities to do your eggs any way you’d like them, not just fried.) There was plenty of tea/coffee available both via a tassimo type machine and instant. My host was very helpful and a delight to talk to. I received a tour of Poppy Annexe at the start which was informative and kept a good pace to allow me to settle in right away. Poppy Annexe has every facility I could have hoped for and is immaculately presented. There’s also a well thought out information pack which introduced me to local facilities like shops/restaurants etc. The countryside views at the front of the property are a very nice bonus.

Poppy Annex was just perfect! Tucked away at the edge of the fascinating, historic village of Wellow, it was in an excellent location both to explore local, ancient walking routes on foot (my passion), and to visit nearby towns of Edwinstowe, Newark, and Mansfield, etc. The splendid Rufford Abbey was a very pleasant walk of just a couple of miles. Marie could not be more kind or accommodating; the very spacious apartment was immaculately clean and complete with anything you could possible need, and more. The open view across the fields is spectacular - I enjoyed drinking my morning tea and my evening wine while looking over the rolling countryside and watching the squirrels and birds bicker with each other! You are not overlooked at all, which was a bonus too. Very good value and highly recommended.

Attentive and thoughtful throughout

Poppys annex was clean, cosy and exceeded all expectations. The location is lovely with amazing views. It really felt a home from home. The lady who runs the b and b really does give that extra X factor to your stay. She’s kind and makes sure you have everything you need. I can’t comment anything bad about my weekend stay . Will absolutely book again.
