Mikumi Adventure Lodge

Great stay! The room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout. I highly recommend this place!

Bonjour Nous sommes arrivés au Mikumi lodge où personne ne nous attendait. Nous avions réservé 5 chambres, seules 2 étaient louables à priori mais pas d'eau, pas d'électricité et restaurant fermé. Rien à voir avec ce à quoi nous pouvions nous attendre. Les 2 personnes qui étaient là nous ont toutefois offert un cocktail. Notre guide nous a dit je ne pars pas tant que vos chambres ne vous sont pas attribuées. Au bout de 30 minutes il nous a dit que l'hotel était en travaux et que nous n'aurions pas les 5 chambres réservées. Je me suis empressée de supprimer ma carte de paiement car en plus si nous annulions la réservation nous avions des frais. Dommage très mauvaise expérience il serait utile que Booking se penche sur cet établissement avant de vendre du rêve.

Very nice place, nice houses in the middle of forest. Very pleasant workers - I would specify the girl on reception, the owner, the masai guards and a guy who helped me with bags. Food was a bit pricy but the portion was big and the food was tasty. Room is big, simple but nice. You could order safari car from there. Though I arrived late and they couldn't help me with the car, I was alone and went directly to the enrance of Mikumi park by hitch hiking - it's easy with these safari cars, there I joined some other guys. But better you find somebody from the hotel and share the costs with them. Also I saw Masai village on the map nearby - could be fun to go there by foot. I was going there by bus from Dar and stopped nearby hotel by gps and walked a bit from the main road. Catching bus back was tricky - hopefully the guys from hotel helped me to stop truck, but mention - it could be not easy to catch a bus - out of 10 buses all 10 passed by, no one stopped.

WiFi connection sometimes blinked, at night it was off. Prices for beer and food are higher than in city but it's common practice - when the lodge is out of city the food become pricy. Also taking bus could be a quest. But all in all the place is nice!
