Buscaba calma y la encontré en las zonas comunes con hamacas y los sonidos libres de coches y ajetreo. Se escucha la calma de las gallinas y pájaros jugando entre ellos por la mañana y por la noche se siente el poder del mar con las olas rompiendo a los pies del alojamiento. Se ve un bonito atardecer si el clima lo permite. Hay perros juguetones y una gana muy cariñosa. Gio transmite esa calma y siempre estará dispuesto a asistirte si necesitas algo.

La localización es buena y te permite acceder a la calle principal del pueblo por un caminito por la playa. Es seguro excepto cuando la marea es alta. En ese caso hay que caminar por un caminito que no está asfaltado y cuando llueve es fácil resbalar sobre todo con una chanclas y olvídate de vestirte de blanco porque vuelves con lodo por todas partes. Si vienes en coche la localización es inmejorable.

I had an amazing stay at Casa Manila in Santa Catalina — it was truly a great experience! The welcome was fantastic, and a special mention goes to Giovani, who is always there. He is incredibly kind, helpful, and always ready to assist with anything you need. He really makes the place feel warm and welcoming. The dorm is bright, clean, and comfortable, which made my stay even more enjoyable. For surfing, there are two main beaches: The first one, La Punta, is only about a 7-minute walk from the hostel. However, it’s more suitable for experienced surfers — you have to paddle for about 15–20 minutes to reach the peak. The second spot, Playa Estero, is about a 20–25 minute walk along the beach and is perfect for all levels. Honestly, the walk is totally worth it, especially since Santa Catalina is a small and peaceful town. For board rentals, there are two shops right next to the hostel (around $15 per day), and they offer good quality boards. There are also a few rental places near Playa Estero, but from what I saw (at least in one shop), the boards were not as good. The kitchen in the hostel is also very practical and clean, which is a big plus. Overall, I 100000% recommend this place — I would definitely come back! --------- لقد كانت إقامتي في Casa Manila في سانتا كاتالينا رائعة حقًا — تجربة مميزة بكل معنى الكلمة! كان الاستقبال ممتازًا، وأود أن أذكر بشكل خاص جيوفاني، الذي يتواجد دائمًا هناك. هو شخص لطيف جدًا، ومتعاون للغاية، ودائمًا مستعد للمساعدة في أي شيء تحتاجه. وجوده يجعل المكان مريحًا ومرحّبًا للغاية. غرفة النوم المشتركة (الدورم) كانت مضيئة، نظيفة ومريحة، مما جعل الإقامة أكثر متعة. بالنسبة لركوب الأمواج (السيرف)، هناك شاطئان رئيسيان: الأول هو La Punta، ويقع على بُعد حوالي 7 دقائق سيرًا على الأقدام من النزل، لكنه مناسب أكثر لأصحاب المستوى المتقدم، حيث تحتاج إلى التجديف لمدة 15 إلى 20 دقيقة للوصول إلى نقطة الموج. أما الشاطئ الثاني فهو Playa Estero، ويقع على بُعد حوالي 20 إلى 25 دقيقة مشيًا على الشاطئ، وهو مناسب لجميع المستويات.

Staff are so welcoming and friendly (although no English). Such a beautiful property and great to have the kitchen area to cook.

No keys given for dorm and room was never locked, although there were lockers inside - I think they may have been adding one to main door? Paddleboard hire expensive so I didn’t use.

The staff was very friendly and helpful and gave good tips for restaurants, excursions, etc. The location is great, right next to the beach and close to the town center. The room was on the smaller side but very clean, cozy and comfortable. The outdoor area is beautiful and well-kept.

Mooie ligging aan zee, rustig, prettige kamers, goed bed en gedeelde keuken beschikbaar. Op loopafstand van dorp. Restaurantjes in de buurt.

Die Gastgeber waren wirklich ausgesprochen freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft war sehr gemütlich und schön dekoriert. Highlight ist der tolle Ausblick aufs Meer. Wir waren 4 Tage in der Unterkunft und netterweise wurde am zweiten Tag das Zimmer geputzt. Wir würden jederzeit wiederkommen.

Ein Wasserfilter wäre super, um nicht so viel Plastikmüll zu produzieren.

Wir hatten einen tollen Aufenthalt in der Unterkunft. Die Gastfreundlichkeit war außergewöhnlich. Meine Freundin hatte Geburtstag und auf Anfrage bereitete man nur für uns ein Stück Kuchen und ein super Frühstück vor. Die Lage war topp- 1 Minute zum Stadtstrand mit super Sonnenuntergängen. Zu dem playa el estero konnte man auch locker 20 min hinlaufen. Beim auschecken half man uns mit den Koffern. Wir wurden sogar von den Gastgebern zur Bushaltestelle in der Stadt gefahren. Bei allen Fragen während unseres Aufenthalts half man uns sofort. Definitiv eine riesen Empfehlung!!!!!
