The Cottage

Nice place to stay, with all the required utilities for a good holiday. We unfortunately didnt get to enjoy The Cottage for too long, as shortly after our arrival the building block lost all electricity due to some infra issue. This lasted for the rest of our stay (3 nights). The host was helpfulmin providing us with backup generator, a gas stove and updates on how the issue was being resolved. And they were super understanding and cooperative when we asked for a partial refund as our stay didnt really go as planned.

Kitchen ware (pan, knives etc) vould be updated

The cottage is comfortable, spacious and spotless. The rooms are actually much bigger than they appear in the photos. Aircon, wifi and hot water are all available when the electricity is on. I only spent one night there on two occasions but it would be a great choice if you have a longer stay in Lilongwe. Wezi, the host, is so lovely!

The property is value for money compared to the cost of an individual hotel room. None of the following observations are the hosts fault and they do not take away from the excellent value. I would book again but it is worth noting, especially for those who might be new to Malawi. The neighbourhood seems safe but isn’t particularly inviting for taking a stroll. I relied on purchasing my own groceries or takeaway from the city. My colleague (a local) was not impressed with the food at the place he walked to. Powercuts lasting a few hours the two nights I was there. There are lamps, so it is manageable if you don’t have any work to do. The first night the neighbourhood dogs were in a bit of a Battle Royale and barked loudly throughout the evening. It was quiet on my second stay.

It was a very clean, well equipped house. We would definitely recommend it!

A super place Big comfort. Every bedroom had a separate bathroom.. We made our own breakfast. We got problem with our car. The owner of the house was helping us with an mechanic. And he took time to drive us to the store for spare parts. If possible I would love to give more than 10 points. We will come back.

Ik kreeg een bericht dat ik allen maar in dollars kon betalen en niet in kwacha. Erg vreemd.

This *immaculately clean* Cottage is everything you want for a stay: large tastefully-furnished rooms, bedroom with air con, full kitchen, WiFi, private garden (with mango trees), space to work (if you must!), and back-up power to the lights. Its location in New Gulliver is an easy drive to City Center and there’s a supermarket within walking distance. Wezi and Bruce are delightful hosts who went out of their way to make my stay a pleasant one. I was so satisfied that I extended my stay multiple times! This wonderful cottage would be the perfect place for a family or group of friends traveling together.
