Dolphin Inn

The hosts went above and beyond to welcome us after a day’s hike in the heat, and looked after us very well. The freshly prepared evening meal and amazing dessert were delicious! The continental breakfast was available for us, with additional items in our mini fridge, before our 5.30am departure in the morning. The pub had a very friendly feel.

It was a good location for me as I was filming about 2 minutes down the road. There’s lots of history in Llanymynech which is lovely to see. The food in the pub was also nice

Discovering mid way through my morning movement that there wasn’t any toilet roll in the room wasn’t fun. The shower was also awful, the flow was impossible to control and was either red hot or stone cold. When I finally got some sort of balance to temperature it was like showering under a dripping tap, really not good! The bath panel was kind of half on, very unsightly and the basin tap had no handle. The mattress wasn’t the best, I ended up sleeping on the duvet which made it bearable it was lucky that it was extremely hot whilst I stayed. I didn’t have the included breakfast, I went down around 830 to a bar with no staff but still dirty glasses from the night before, he had mentioned something about a continental breakfast but I saw no sign of it. I’d have liked to have told a member of staff about all of the above issues but there was nobody around

Room was quite spacious.

No food available - but given 1/5 food hygiene rating, probably a good thing. Closed pub at 9pm after we checked in and locked us out. No way to contact them to get in- phone number was unavailable.

The breakfast was good.

The room and facilities and someone had to phone the owner, that i was waiting to get into my room as there was no one to check me in.

Good location and very good beer.

Bed was old, saggy and not very comfortable. Shower was extremely weak.

Handy location for walking Offa’s Dyke, very friendly and helpful staff.

The rooms have been upgraded but some things are less than ideal - the Saniflow macerator, the lack of air conditioning and the noise from a busy main road throughout the night.

Name was misleading ( The Dolphin/ Dolpon Inn) leading to misleading direction. It is just not fair to put this on the booking , com. It is all deception. Not good

Friendly staff, who treated a female solo traveller really well.
