Rowan Lodge

The outdoor space was amazing, so much of it! Was perfect for outdoor play for the kids. Perhaps wouldn't stay as a four in the winter months when you are not able to make full use of the outdoor space but as a couple it would be fine. Nicely furnished and handy that washing up liquid, kitchen roll and tea towels provided along with tea bags and coffee + dishwasher tablets. Needed a broom in addition to the dust pan and brush! Plenty of supermarkets and pubs within a 10-20 min drive. Nice place and was just 30 mins from alton towers.

Peaceful area.

Small dogs can get under the fence and this did happen while we were there, we have two GSD dogs and we were constantly on edge as we were worried about the small dogs safety even if the owners of the small dog wasn't bothered. Other wise the garden at Rowan lodge is perfect, our dogs couldn't get out, the space was amazing and our young dog really enjoyed running free and playing ball while our old girl just watched on.

Clean, nice location, modern facilities

Very little lighting at night time and the fencing and gates were not adequate to ensure dogs could not leave the enclosed garden under/through the gaps.

Was very clean and welcoming, Area was very peacefull and relaxing with a large area for each of the cabins, including a gas bbq table and chairs,

Beautiful setting

The lodge is cozy and comfortable. In the house you can find everything necessary for everyday living. The location is perfect if you are looking for peace and quiet. Lots of space in the parking. A large garden where you can play badminton with your children. I highly recommend it 😁

The only thing I can complain about are the bushes that are not trimmed at the exit and it is difficult to see whether a car is approaching from the right or left.

Wow ! Each lodge has its own large area of fenced grassed land , perfect for my disabled malamute who can't walk far , and perfect for the young border collie to zoom around in ! The Lodge itself is immaculate , modern , warm and comfortable and so clean and sparkling, immaculate in fact ! With just the 4 lodges , it was so peaceful and we hardly saw another person! We had breakfast and tea cooked on the gas bbq , thr whole weekend , the dogs were outside all day and reluctant to come inside even at bedtime, and it was the most perfect break ! We will definitely come back again !

Not a thing ! What is there to not like ?!

The property is beautiful, well appointed and finished to a high standard, with everything provided that we could possibly need. The location is just stunning, all we could hear was birdsong - it was the most peaceful and relaxing place despite being only a short drive from Derby. We loved it and will definitely be coming back.
