The Explorer Kundasang

Location near to town easy access to food. The homestay was on higher ground with good view of town & sunset.

Frequent power tripped due to the Power Provider issue beyond the Homestay control.

Very near to market. Clean with basic amenities. Big enough for a group of families gathering.

Host is excellent and went above and beyond to welcome us. The house is large and great for family groups, kitchen and bathrooms are simple and functional. The grassy outdoor area has glimpses of the mountain and is a wonderful place to have a bbq

This was a very last minute emergency stay because our other accommodations were unliveable. The host got the place ready for us with an hours notice, and the house was a dream. We had 7 adults with us, 2 couples and the rest singles, so we were able to each have our own bedrooms here. There were plenty of wet rooms/bathrooms so we didn't have to worry about sharing a single toilet between 7. The view was amazing, and the bedrooms were a great size, each with their own fan and table.

Nothing wrong with the house, the driveway is just a little steep, and with the rain, our van was not able to make it up. We slipped off the concrete runners and were unable to get a tire back on so instead backed back down the driveway. Maybe a bit more gravel or concrete to help with slippage, but again, I understand this is Borneo and the rainforest, it's going to rain and get muddy :) the view from the property was worth it though!

Many rooms. Nice garden with wonderful scenery.

Not enough blankets. The blankets were too thin. We were all shivering especially after the heavy downpour that night. It was still very cold even though we had to wear socs, jackets and pullovers to sleep. Water from shower is not satisfactory. The upper staircase was a bit too steep esp for senior citizens and elderly ppl.
