This small apartment was close to the beach in Hulhumale residential area (not the original old Male island), and gave an opportunity to know part of the current-day Hulhumale culture. Each of the two rooms had an independent bathroom.making it perfect for travelling friends. With some additional planning and renovation, this apartment has increased potential. The general cleanliness of the bedroom and apartment was pleasing. A small local market was close , enabling access to Maldivian 'take-away' and introduction to local culture and foods. The local beach provides lovely stretch to walk;swimming is permitted in long shorts and long sleeve top as this is a Muslim community.

The owner of this private listing made an attempt to connect for convenient transference of information via whatsapp, although sometimes information was confusing..like car pick up, how you enter building tower complex to find the apartment, necessity to to pay further money (car pick up and recent increase in country Green Tax). The apartment appears to have undergone recent renovations, with tools and construction equipment strewn behind cloth curtains in kitchenette, crockery & cutlery left stored in dish rack on sink top and kitchen cabinets permanently closed with boards screwed in place. The advertised washer was stored on an open balcony, and with Maldives warm and rainy climate -the washer was unusable-mouldy smelling and dirty door-rim. The advertised 'sound-proof ' walls were not so, with sounds from neighbouring apartment and mechanism of the very close elevator constantly sounding. Beds were not made up with top and bottom sheet, which meant person's body is in contact with same blankets as previous customer. While I am familiar with the type of cook-top, both my travel partner and I could not get it to turn on, and there were no instructions. The shower room is all in one -so toilet gets wet while showering - All in all this apartment did not quite meet expectations, therefore, not value for money.

The host Ismail was very helpful throughout our communications. He organised a car to take us to the accommodation from the ferry drop off at the male airport. The establishment was really lovely. 2 bedrooms, nice small lounge and kitchen/dining area. The kitchen had all the cutlery and crockery one will need to enjoy a meal. It also had a washing machine to use,including detergents free of charge. Beds were comfortable and we had good WiFi connection to enjoy a movie at night. Ismail also took us for a complimentary supper which I have never experienced a host do. This was so much appreciated. The unit is so well equipped,it honestly felt like home. It had an ironing board and iron as well. We could have spent an entire week here exploring hulumale. But only booked 3 nights. Also shops and affordable restaurants just outside the building. If we ever in the Maldives again,we will without a doubt book this establishment. Thank you so much to Ismail our host, for such an incredible place to stay while exploring beautiful Hulhumale.

It would be great if both bathrooms had hot water. Especially coming from beach with a family of 5 and everyone wanting to use the shower. But Ismail did say he has a small family so didn't need 2 bathrooms with hot water. None the less it was fine.

1 - During the second day of my stay, the host called me and "advised" me to leave the apartment at 10h00, pretending that the airport is very busy. The guy wants me to go to the airport 5 hours prior to my flight!! It was a total lie, he just wanted to get the apartment early 2 - The apartment was not cleaned enough: rotten eggs in the fridge, fortunately we didn't gave them to our kids, dirty sheets in a basket, did not even dare to remove them 3 - The property is at the extreme north of the Hulhumale, in a new residential area of many many buldings, nothing nearby and NOT suitable for tourists at all

Neat and clean appartmnt with all basic necessities provided, although toiletries were not there but still the house was clean n well settled, no bad smell no any dust or even neighbour's were calm n decent, manager guided us well abt near about. Above all, Mr Ibrahim the owner contacted us every now and then and asked us abt what V need or what guidance V want, he was thoroughly wd us which was really appreciateable, Mr Ibrahim also helped us changed currency n provided us ruffiya on our arrival while we were carrying dollars wd us. The flat screen TV had sound system and had channel access, overall it was gud to stay there.

No toiletries

Very close to the beach. Restaurant and grocery shop are just at the ground floor. The owner is kind enough to assist us with the transportation. There are also other facilities provided eg washing machine (with detergent liquid), NETFLIX, iron, microwave oven, kettle, and even battery bank and face mask. Very easy to get transportation too (taxis are all around) as H12 to the 1st phase costs you Rf 30 and to Male Rf 100. Extremely worth the money since every thing is expensive here in Maldives.

The local met completely my expectations

Very communicative owner. He gave us detailed instructions and was very helpful, for example if you urgently need a taxi to airport early in the morning, he will arrange everything! The apartment is in the highest floor in a lively house, so sometimes the elevators take a bit longer. The flat itself was very nice and modern with everything we needed. Just on the ground floor, there's a little local fastfood restaurant with good food and prices.
