The location is amazing, up on a hill, very quiet. The house has a very romantic touch and is equipped with everything one needs.

The way up the hill through the serpentines scared me at the beginning, but one becomes accustomed with it and at the end I really loved it.

⭐☆☆☆☆ „Leider können wir dieses Ferienhaus überhaupt nicht empfehlen. Die Fenster waren defekt und ließen sich nicht richtig schließen, wodurch wir im gesamten Aufenthalt – sowohl im Unter- als auch im Obergeschoss – von unzähligen Mückenstichen geplagt wurden. Rund ums Haus wimmelte es von Mücken, Glühwürmchen und sogar Eidechsen, die sich nicht nur draußen, sondern auch im Haus befanden. An ein entspanntes Sitzen im Freien war weder morgens noch abends zu denken. Die Lage war ebenso eine Katastrophe: Um von der Stadt aus dorthin zu gelangen, musste man sehr steile, völlig unbeleuchtete Hänge hochfahren. Besonders gefährlich wurde es, als uns bei einer Fahrt mit dem Motorrad plötzlich ein Hund aus dem Gebüsch ansprang und uns beinahe angriff – wir konnten uns gerade noch retten. In der Umgebung liefen generell viele unkontrollierte Hunde frei herum, was ein ständiges Gefühl der Unsicherheit erzeugte. Das Haus selbst war schlecht beleuchtet, die Ausstattung insgesamt enttäuschend, und aufgrund der vielen Mängel leider alles andere als erholsam. Wir können dieses Haus absolut nicht weiterempfehlen.“

Comfortable rooms and plenty of space. Lovely sunsets on the terrace with a glass of wine and birdsong. Quiet at night.

Nothing to dislike but the drive up the hill from the main road is a bit of an adventure. Still the road gives easy access to Lucca and Viareggio and beyond.

We were pleasantly surprised by our nocturnal companions: fireflies and lizards on street.

We absolutely loved our stay at Irene’s house. It was spotless clean, the kitchen was rally well equipped and the beds were comfortable. The location is in the end of a very calm street, now and then a car will pass or a tractor. We really enjoyed the silence there. For our baby they provided a foldable crib which we appreciated very much. We did trips to Lucca and Pisa which are reachable in about half an hour of a drive. The house looks in real as pretty as in the pictures. They did a really good job in renovating and decorating it. Absolutely our taste! Everything smelled fresh and the place was well aired before we got there. We’ll definitely stop there again next time we visit Tuscany. Also Irene and her mother were very helpful with all our requests and questions. Really recommend staying there!

The dishwasher was not working during our stay, but this was communicated in advance and was no problem for us.
