Boschendal Farm Estate

Dear Sir or Madam, I would like to formally express our disappointment with our recent stay at Boschendal Farm Estate, which unfortunately did not meet our expectations. First of all, the photos and descriptions shown on the website do not accurately reflect the actual accommodation and facilities provided. Upon arrival, our rooms were located quite far from the parking area, and the entire path consisted of loose gravel, making it impossible to pull suitcases. The hotel staff did not assist with luggage transportation to the room. As we were traveling with children and several suitcases, this situation was extremely stressful. At check-out, it was raining heavily and the same situation occurred again, with no assistance offered. Additionally, the website advertises several activities for children; however, upon arrival we discovered that all these activities are located in a different area, requiring guests to drive there. This information is not clearly communicated in advance. There was also no guidance provided about available activities at the hotel, making it difficult to understand what could actually be done during our stay. Breakfast was served only from 8:00 to 9:30 am, which is a very limited time window, especially for families with children. Furthermore, the breakfast offering itself was quite basic and below expectations for a property of this level. Overall, the experience was disappointing and did not correspond to what is presented online. I felt it was important to share this feedback so that future guests do not face the same issues. Authentic yet modern living

We loved loved our stay! Super comfortable house and wow the location on itself is just a dream. All the facilities you desire and culinary adults bringing children. Lots for everyone! The pools and views were stunning, the designs and restaurants outstanding. And the staff - simply wonderful!

We missed a comfy chill spot on the veranda of our house. We moved the inside coutch there to be able to comfortably sit outside, but that would be our only tip!

Spacious and comfortable rooms. Great surroundings. Child friendly. Nice restaurant.

We asked to check in early to let our 2 year old son sleep in the afternoon. We never heard back and found out upon arrival that early checkin was not possible. Despite our early arrival we could only check in 15 mins later (3.15pm) because we were told staff was still preparing our engagement surprise. However there was no surprise. I asked the manager later and he mentioned that it was probably hidden so we would find it in the days to come. We never did. I asked it again on the day of departure and we were told the engagement surprise would come but it didn’t. Also upon arrival we were asked if we needed help with our luggage. Had I known we had to walk to the farthest house with all our luggage I would of course have said yes. If I would have been the staff and see a family that has waited for 1,5 hours with a child that needs to go to sleep and a wife that’s pregnant (which I mentioned at some point) I would have simply carried the luggage to the room instead of asking. I would cover all land at the back side of the apartments with grass for children to play (some lower number apartments have it already).

The room was excellent, everything was of a high quality, the beds were extremely comfortable. The showers and bathrooms were good too. We didn't use the kitchen facilities but the fridge was of a good size and it had everything you'd expect (microwave, kettle, coffee machine).

The only negative of our stay was there was a couple of minor miscommunications which negatively impacted us, we only got given one travel cot initially, so needed to request and wait for another, which was little stressful with two little ones. On another occasion, the shuttle bus took us to the wrong destination on the estate, and we had a 15 minute wait to get another shuttle bus back to the correct destination. Both things can happen, of course, and they were very apologetic on both occasions, but it probably because this estate is a big beast, handling a huge amount of guests and visitors every day, so just be aware that these kind of mishaps may happen but they were always dealt with etc.

Rooms are great and very spacious. New restaurant Arum is amazing and very good breakfast.

The pool was not very clean.

Not great customer service. Pictures do not look like the rooms on the site. Restaurants and facilities on site were closed all week and no refund/ compensation was offered
