Host & Stay - White House

The parking was great,off road and the key holder easy to use. The outside space was pretty and easy to access with plenty of seating. There was everything we needed without extra shopping for the first night ,like tea,coffee?milk and sugar and cooking,cleaning and dining equipment more than adequate in the kitchen. Nice and roomy cloakroom handy and lounge comfortable with great speaker. Bedrooms light and airy but would be cosy in winter with a little traffic noise but not too bad and hardly at night. Nothing to disturb a good night's sleep. Bathroom clean and bright with all facilities. Whole house clean and well kept and comfortable.

Lovely cottage. Tastefully decorated. Had everything I needed. Would return. Wensley is beautiful.

Small suggestion: Opaque privacy film would be better on the bathroom window rather than the shutters to assist with the ventilation that is required.

We loved the garden, and the wood burning stove. The cottage was very clean and nicely furnished.

The kitchen lacked basic cooking stuff, the oven was not very clean and I didn't want to use the oven tray as it was very scratched. The dishwasher was temperamental, we struggled to get it to work. The beds were not very comfortable, I don't think we could have stayed for another night.

Very comfortable house, loved how was decorated, and enjoyed little garden. A good relaxing house to stay in. Not a problem that there was no TV, had good Wifi system.

Hard at night to find the Key lock safe. Very small car parking space just off a very busy road on a hill.

What a beautiful little cottage. On arrival the key box was easy to find, key with a little torch attached for dark nights is a thoughtful touch. Entering there was a little tray with fresh ground coffee, tea, a bottle of wine and Pringles which the children loved, milk sachets were left in the fridge. Downstairs loo with washing machine and airer which we found useful as the weather was unfortunately rather autumnal and wet is placed just off the kitchen. Two lush comfy sofas with plenty of plush soft furnishings and much art on the walls to enjoy. The place had just enough interesting ornaments around to make it feel like home. A good selection of board games and cards, which we took full advantage whilst sat around the log fire. All in all a very tasteful well though out cosy cottage. After booking the hubby pointed out the lack of TV from other reviews which I hadn’t taken note of, you can maybe tell which family member uses the TV the most hehe. This was quite refreshing and not at all an issue for us, in fact quite the opposite, we talked and played games each night this made the break a more treasured time. We had taken a small TV and Amazon stick, this was only used twice to catchup on news by the hubby. We’d defiantly consider staying again if in the area without hesitation. We all had a wonderful relaxing family holiday, made extra special by the thoughtful touches around this place. We’ve stayed in many holiday homes, none of which have felt quite as homely as this one, you can tell much love was put into making this place special. Thank you for a lovely stay x

The road noise could be distracting if you live on a quiet road like us, the cottage is on a main through road, which I hadn’t taken note of when booking, with new windows this won’t be noticed at all. Little things like making sure the cleaning team clean the fire glass for instance and have a double check over details before signing off. The kitchen cupboards could do with an organise. We hadn’t stayed before, so opened all kitchen cupboards to pack food away but found a lot were already used and some a little disorganised. We later found the cupboard dedicated for holiday makers to putting food in. In fairness I should point out that we are a family of four and stayed for four night, if it had been a weekend breaking we wouldn’t have need the extra cupboard space. House keeping need to double check the bedding and towels and replace any damaged ones, one of the singles had a ripped duvet cover, one of our towels had a small hole, easy to miss on a quick turn around but really shouldn’t have been. I appreciate damage happens when sending out to be laundered but standard checking practices when making up for new guests should pick up these things. Those small niggles said, we did have a wonderful, relaxing few days and would happily stay again if in the area. None of the small negatives had any affect on our break as there are so many positives of this holiday home x

Property was well furnished, comfortable and clean and had everything we wanted. A lovely place to stay!
