Wir durften die komplette Küche nicht benutzen. Wir haben eig. dieses Jahr extra etwas gebucht wo wir eine eigene Küche haben um nicht wie im Vorjahr jeden Tag essen gehen zu müssen. Dass die Küche nicht benutzt werden darf, weil irgendwer zuvor sie mal zu dreckig gemacht hat, wurde uns erst mitgeteilt als wir bereits da waren. Andere Gruppen hatten sogar eine Großeinkauf dabei bei Anreise & mussten rumdiskutieren um wenigstens den Ofen für Tiefkühlpizza benutzen zu dürfen. Das kann eig. nicht sein, dass so ein Detail bei der Buchung nicht angesprochen wird.

We stayed at Hotel Arenisca during our trip to Sonus Festival, which is located on a beach about a 10-minute drive from the hotel. We absolutely loved our stay here. The hosts were kind and quick to assist whenever we needed anything. The property had around ten other apartments, most of which were occupied by guests attending the same festival. We got to know each other while hanging out in the lovely communal areas, like the swimming pool and the shared kitchen. It was such a pleasant experience meeting all these people from different parts of the world. Our room was the perfect size, equipped with its own small fridge and a huge balcony. We also appreciated the communal kitchen and dining area, where we could store extra food and drinks that didn’t fit in the room’s mini-fridge. Some reviews mentioned the restriction on cooking in the kitchen, but for us, it wasn’t an issue—just a nice bonus to have the extra space. We also loved visiting the neighboring Hotel Olea for drinks. It was exciting to meet and chat with some of the big-name DJs who played at Sonus, as well as members of the festival team who were staying there. If you’re as curious as we are, this is a fun place to be. We should mention that, contrary to some previous reviews, the hotel owners were Living at the hotel, this is not how it is now. We only saw them once. They were lovely people who even gave us a lift to the festival. The cleaning lady, whom we saw more often, was very helpful as well. We highly recommend this place.

The pools and garden were great and the room was spacious. It was a good thing that the curtains blocked out almost all of the sunlight. The service provided by Jasmine and the contact with the owner was very good. We met nice other travellers hanging around the pool. The town of Novalja is a short walk away, and not being in the town provided some welcome rest from the very busy traffic and noisy day and nightlife.

The building is relatively noisy. You hear the moving of furniture, doors opening and other people talking. Nothing extreme, but definitely audible. It was unclear for us when booking that we were not allowed to fully use the kitchen. We do understand that sharing a kitchen between multiple Apartments could provide problems, especially if not everyone cleans up after using things. In our week we had good contact with all other tenants and believe we could have made it work together.
