Country Cottage Basement Apartment

This was such a cute property so close to Silverwood Theme Park, and shopping. We just came in as a large family to spend the night for scary wood, and had more than enough places to sleep and all the beds were so comfortable. Everything you need was here for a little stay and the owners were very friendly.

The owner was awesome, we had a lot of issues but he was very kind and listened to us, tried to address everything. Tried to keep people a little quieter so we could get some sleep for our drive home. The garden is gorgeous! If you have kids and naturally wake up early and get woken up a lot from children already, this would be a great place to stay for Silverwood.

We had an ok stay. I think our issues were mainly due to booking.com’s AI putting an incorrect description. This is a not well insulated basement unit and it is LOUD. Constant stomping and running from upstairs and very loud voices yelling across the house at each other at 6am on a Saturday. Plus the water runs through the basement, so every toilet flush, which happened throughout the night, loudly booms through the space. Curtains are thin and don’t fully cover windows and it got very cold but luckily unlike the AC as others menthioned, guests do control the heaters. WiFi was unreliable at best and continuously went out.

The host was extremely kind and helpful. The place is beautiful.

The cover photo is of the owners house and entrance. I walked in on the whole family accidentally. They did send an email about how to enter the basement apartment from side but I didn’t catch it. It is not a two bedroom! Only one bedroom has a door. Then the living room and playroom are all connected. There’s one bed and two couches plus a twin foldable mattress in the closet. No privacy. There was dust everywhere. Under beds. On furniture.

We stayed at the County Cottage apartment for a quick family vacation. The place was adorable, clean, and enough room for all of us. We got to sit outside at night in the warm weather and watch birds and just relax.

Nothing to really dislike, just make sure you use the fans if it's warmer weather. We didn't see them until the second night.
