Clifftop Exclusive Safari Hideaway

The friendly staff for welcoming us and making our stay easy. The restaurant stuff, Lucia for making our room romantic as we were celebrating wedding anniversary. Our guide Mr Mojela for driving us with passion and ensuring us that we have the best safari experience. The passion and knowledge he has with animals made us look forward to all the game drives.

Definitely not a 5-star hotel, only worth 3 stars at most. Quality of food was poor, some meals the meat dish served consisted of barely edible and tough meat. Cheese and biscuits served with soggy biscuits! Minibar and coffee station in room was not replenished during our stay Management was noticeable by their absence. Eskom power was cut and the hotel generator which supplied power was regularly interrupted without notice from management. On the last night there was no power to our room at all, requested refund for 1 night which was not approved by management. On the way to dinner one night had a close encounter with elephants. Numerous guests were advised to stay in their rooms, but we received no such notification. Found out after arrival that most of the reserve was closed and inaccessible due to the weather. Not advised prior to arrival and given an option to reschedule our stay. Game drives thus consisted of a short loop near the hotel and minimal wild life seen. Recommend that reserve be visited in the dry season, and select a lodge in the centre of the reserve to improve chances of see wild life on game drives

Minor issues that are not worth the review. The staff always make up for whatever inconvenience you might encounter.

I think the Food could have been better options available, its Africa , a braai would of been lekker for one night or Luch .
