ITLovely new apartment just 5 minutes away from the centre of Matala. Easy access to the beach, Matala caves and restaurants. It’s newly furnished with taste, clean. Comfortable bed.
DEOur landlord was very friendly and also helpful with tips about the area. The house was very clean and by no means "old-fashioned". We enjoyed the sunrise over the mountains to the sound of goat bells in the distance. The beach was a quick and easy walk away. Early in the morning was the best time to swim and snorkel in Matala. It was lovely to have breakfast in the house after our swim and then read or enjoy the lounge chairs and the couch outside. The house is very family-friendly, especially because of the large enclosed terrace with a gate that locks. Everything in the house is nice and open with wide doors, and the shower is very spacious. We liked the half-open glass wall instead of a shower curtain - so the shower was able dry well and the bathroom was by no means musty. The price was a concern at first, but we researched many hotels, houses and apartments, and later we recognized them in Matala. Some were nice, but without a kitchen, without sun, without privacy, or far too close to the tourist hotspots. There were plenty of good restaurants in Matala, but we also cooked dinner in the house, which in turn saved us money on our trip. Here we had enough peace and quiet to relax. It was worth every penny! We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely be back!
