"We did not stay there. And it was nonrefundable. We talked to the owners, but to no avail."

1.0

There were steps down to the house which were treacherous with suitcases. The room was so tiny and the pictures were deceiving because the furniture was very small.! There was no place to open up our two suitcases as we were on a 10 day trip. And the bathroom was tiny as well. We got storm because it was nonrefundable. From now on we will only use hotels because we are a senior couple and can’t take a chance on losing $350.

It was very difficult to find. There was wooden steps leading down to the house and difficult to maneuver luggage for a senior couple . The furniture was extremely small and the room was about the size of a queen size bed. There was no place even to open up our two suitcases. The pictures were very deceiving. The kitchen was not stocked as advertised.

"Great getaway"

10.0

Comfortable bed, well stocked kitchen equipment lovely decor, beautiful surroundings.

If the house were full of guests it would be a little noisy. The good news is that the hosts provided a white noise machine.

"Clean, modern stay with convenience to Boone and Blowing Rock"

9.0

Clean and Modern inside the home and room we stayed in. Common areas are very useful and spacious.

Breakfast was advertised but was limited to eggs and waffles. Need more selection like juice, milk, condiments, baked goods etc. Also outside lighting needs to be added for better safety.

"Superb"

9.0

Our second stay was even better than the first one. Exceptional property, quiet location, well appointed rooms and common areas. Lots of activities around the Boone and Blowing Rock area. The Wanderer Guest House is really one of a kind and not to be missed if you are in the area.

Nothing not to like. Clothes hangers in the closets would be useful.

"Pretty with no heart!"

1.0

At the time location warned of ice on stairs and snow on road. NOT ICE ON THE ROAD. Am sure they have changed it in their bio now so do NOT book if the temps are below freezing as access will be very limited as soon as you exit the highway even though every where else in town is clear.

Management left me wondering why the Christian reference in the name. Unmarked entrance from the highway and I had to park by the highway and carry my ski gear the 150 yards due to unmaintained road to parking. As did other guest. I did not get the room promised and the room I did get was double booked and strangers were entering my room. They left angry that night. No phone service so called from ski lodge next day to discuss salting/sanding access road to parking at the house and was told the cleaning lady had been there to do it. Was able to get to parking lot after skiing so assume road had been salted as told. In the morning the parking lot and road out were frozen solid and I was not able to get out to go ski. Prior to arriving ALL the roads in town were clear and passible so issue was isolated to guest house. I tried to wait to see if parking would melt but eventually texted to inform of situation and her solution was for me to carry a bucket of salt up icy stairs and salt their drive way. Even though the bucket was full and too heavy for me to carry up the icy stairs it was no where near enough to get me out of the parking lot and up the road to get out. When I complained again I was asked to leave and they would refund my money. That was the problem was I could not leave!!!!!. Finally texted to say call me a tow truck to get me out. Was in tears at this time and when the "cleaning lady's" husband showed up about 3PM he was skidding all over the road and took over another hour to get me out. Though he was kind to my face and stated he worked for Samaritans Purse (wearing the shirt with logo) I later came to believe he was actually also the manager and their true heart was shown when after asking me to leave all day they would not refund my money unless I stated that every thing was my fault.
