Farming Hostel Ahangama

I had a wonderful stay at the Farming Hostel in Ahangama! From the moment I arrived, the warm and welcoming family made me feel right at home. They were incredibly kind and helpful throughout my stay. The breakfast every morning was absolutely delicious – fresh, locally sourced, and full of flavor. It was the perfect way to start the day! What really stood out to me was the family's thoughtfulness when I wasn’t feeling well. They took the time to prepare a soothing herbal tea with local herbs, which really helped me feel better. The atmosphere at the hostel was calm and peaceful with the cutest pets. If you’re looking for a truly authentic and nurturing experience, I highly recommend staying here. The family’s hospitality made my visit to Ahangama unforgettable!

The hostel doesn’t have air conditioning, just fans, and there’s no Wi-Fi, but honestly, it wasn’t an issue for me at all. I found it to be a refreshing change, allowing me to fully relax and disconnect.

Lovely, warm, clean & authentic homestay, with the opportunity to meet other travellers. Hosts are lovely, the food is fantastic, and a 10 min walk to main drag / 3 min walk to ‘secret’ beach

Couldn’t recommend this place enough, but be aware that the school next door starts their lively national anthem around 7:30am during the week!

I stayed only for one night but owners made sure that I was cared for and they were super lovely. I recommend staying here :)

I had a wonderful stay at the farmhouse. As a solo female traveler, I felt safe & looked after. The ladies were so hospitable and kind, I didn't want to leave! It's incredible value for money, knowing that most stays in Ahangama are much more expensive. Know that you are getting a homestay experience! The home is local and just off the main road, across the road from the secret beach with a coffee shop nearby. I highly recommend asking for a cooking class, it was authentic and so lovely to see how everything is prepared in the home. I would 100% stay again!! Thank you for your warmth and kindness!

If you're looking for an authentic SL home stay experience: Here you go. Suuuper friendly hosts, the kindest I've met so far on the island. They offer breakfast which is awesome! Great location as it's quiet and still close to the main road / bus stop / shops. Be aware that it's a rather basic accommodation.

The hosting family were the most friendly people i have ever met, so kind and always there to help. The house itself was beautiful and they had the most friendly dog ever

It was an amazing experience to stay at Farming Hostel. We felt like at home! Our hosts were so welcoming, taking care of us during our whole stay. The meals were also wonderful, very tasty. The accomodation has an excellent location, it is very close to the beautiful Secret Beach!

I absolutely love this place! The hostess is so kind and welcoming, and the house is cozy with a beautiful garden. She prepares amazing food – truly delicious! You feel safe and well taken care of here. I can’t wait to come back:)

This place is a little gem! A little away from the busy main road but still everything in Ahangama is in walking distance and some restaurants and beach is just in the neighborhood. It s a peaceful quiet place with a huge garden and the friendliest owner ever! She cooked every day amazing and tasty local food for me and really made me feel like home! I could have not find a better place in Ahangama. Thank you again... Highly recommended!
