Wenn man so wie wir ausschließlich zu Fuß unterwegs sein möchte, muss man mit einigen Stufen rechnen, was vermutlich bei den meisten Unterkünften in dieser Gegend der Fall sein wird.

Our favorite stay on our Italy trip! The apartment is big, with a bedroom, living room and kitchen. We loved that we could chill on either the balcony or the roof terrace. Both have amazing views, roof terrace especially. The location is calm and cute, with few tourists, which was appreciated after the hectic tourist magnets nearby. We loved to have a proper kitchen to prepare meals. Just a few tips for future guests: For arriving to the apartment, accept Evas offer of pick-up service if you don't have your own vehicle. The taxi prices from Amalfi is at least 60-70 euros (10 minutes drive). Once there with your luggage, learn the bus service! So, ALL buses from Amalfi > Ravello can stop at the bus stop Bivio Pontone, ASK THE DRIVER, some buses doesn't have a functioning stop button. From Bivio Pontone you have to walk 1 minute on the highly trafficked road, but then on a smaller, calmer road which is safe to walk on. About 20-30 minutes walk to the apartment, depending on your speed. There is also a bus that travels between Amalfi > Pontone, which stops closer to the apartment, but runs only every second or third hour. Since it's a bit of a hassle to travel by bus, it's not like you can go back and forth to the apartment. It's easy to walk down to Amalfi, but we didn't try to go the other way, but it's of course an option. But Pontone is a very cute little town with all the Italian stairs, alleyways and houses. You have two-three restaurants five minutes away. Pontone is a good starting point to walk to Valle delle Ferriere, although check opening hours; it wasn't open 9.45 a regular day when I was there. An Amalfi tip: We loved the neighbouring smaller town Atrani more than Amalfi. You can walk there.

This is a small issue, but we would have loved better furniture on the roof terrace and on the balcony. It's a very nice space but it's really not decorated or furnished to it's potential. The furniture in the apartment is older and not modern, but clean and comfortable! We would have loved a working smart tv on our rainy night in, but I think updates need to be made to the software, it couldn't connect to my phone.

Amazing view, good kitchen, quiet location. THIS IS WORTH NOTING: Bus from Amalfi was inexpensive and convenient, just pick up by road near the beach/docks. Whilst there are infrequent busses to Pontone, regular ones go to Bivio Pontone (about 15 mins walk, uphill to the appartment). If you say "Pontone" to the driver, they'll tell you to get another bus, just say "Bivio Pontone" and ask the driver to let you know when it's your stop (or use Google maps, which is probably better). You'll be dropped off near the Spar (small supermarket). Walks down to Amalfi are quite steep, about 30/40 mins at a comfortable pace but really enjoyable. I recommend trying a few, we took the right from the bottom of the steep stairs by the appartment through the valley and the other was on the left of the stars, keeping a look for the sign to Amalfi on the right. We also enjoyed taking the bus from Amalfi to Ravello and walking around the valley to Scala, Minute and back to Pontone - quite long but lovely. The stairs from the road to the appartment are steep, however, if you walk to the small square and from there go to the appartment, you keep the height and avoid the stairs. I loved it here and would go back in a heartbeat, absolutely amazing views.

Wi-fi was a bit spotty (no phone signal either). I wouldn't recommend walking from Amalfi to the appartment, read above for how to use the buses - my biggest advice is "Keep the height" as a strategy. Breakfast options were pretty basic but there's plenty of nice things at the spar (and a marvellous deli counter).

Eva was super helpful before and during our stay. She helped us to arrange a taxi and a scooter rent before our arrival and met us at her amazing apartment (with an incredible view!) and showed us around. Thank you
