K-Guesthouse Dongdaemun

Location was close to transit and some attractions were within walking distance (e.g., Dongdaemun Design Plaza, Gwangjiang market, etc.). Front staff was very kind and helpful. There was one elevator which was quite handy with luggage and after a long day out.

The facility is old and not good ventilation system. Tiny bathroom with shower extension over the sink and toilet, depending on the room. The water took a long time to dry out (if at all), so uncomfortable to use bathroom after shower. Towels do not dry due to dampness of the room. Rooms are tiny with little to no space to maneuver. Walls are quite thin and you can hear every noise from neighbors and outside. For the price and location, it was acceptable but I would likely look elsewhere if I come to Seoul again.

Location and price was great. Staff was friendly.

There was mold in the room, we don't know where but my friend is allergic and very sensitive to it. I didn't notice it myself but he kept coughing and sneezing. The bathroom is also quite small and you have to turn a certain way as to not spill water into the room when showering. The worst part we're the pipes. We don't know if it was people showing or something else, but every day from 00:30 to about 2 in the morning it was really loud in our room, coming from water pipes in the wall/ceiling. Also someone kept using a hair dryer at around 1:30 at night. There are no rules on noise as far as we could tell and we couldn't identify which room exactly the noise came from, so we didn't make a complaint, but this is absolutely unacceptable. We couldn't sleep at all for multiple days until they stopped. My bed sheet also had a stain.
