Studio Elpida Santorini

This was a modern, generously sized studio that perfectly fitted our needs. The bathroom and shower, large eating area, sunny deck (we didn’t use because of heat), good air conditioning and wifi were all features we appreciated. It’s in Merrisia, so it requires transportation to and from. However, there are bus stops, and a large supermarket and restaurants within 5-10 minutes walk away. Both the owner and booking manager are very responsive to questions and issues. Our stay was relaxing.

The hard bed was the only reason I wouldn’t give Studio Elpida a 10. A quilted mattress topper would probably fix the problem.

The apartment was clean and spacious. The bathroom was lovely and there were sufficient links to public transport to make travelling around Santorini relatively easy

The facilities in the kitchen were basic There were no cooking facilities except a microwave. and no saucepans/frying pan etc They obviously expected you to eat out

I did not meet a host, they left keys in the door on our arrival, which was easy and comfortable since we landed quite late. The flat is located less than 10 mins drive from the Santorini Airport. I highly recommend to rent a car, since Uber there is very expensive. 2 mins away is a bus stop, but we did go anywhere by bus so I cannot present my opinion about it. 5 mins walk is a supermarket which is very convenient. The studio itself is newly redecorated. It is very clean and tidy. On our arrival, we received a bottle of wine and cold water in the fridge, which was a really nice gesture. Thank you so much for having us.

There is a kettle, a coffee machine, a fridge and a microwave but there is no hob, which could be helpful sometimes.

Studio Elpida Santorini is centrally located in Messaria, making it incredibly convenient for getting around the island. Most of the buses pass through Messaria, and there are several bus stops within a 3-6 minute walk from the apartment. Contrary to what I've heard about buses on Santorini being unpredictable and unreliable, we never waited more than 10 minutes. The location is perfect for a quick stop to recharge after a day at the beach before heading to Fira or Oia in the evening. Another excellent feature of this location is the fully equipped kitchen with a microwave. There are also several large supermarkets just a 2-3 minute walk away, offering a great selection of delicious, healthy meals, fresh fruits, and vegetables. We also arranged a very affordable shuttle through the property and were picked up from the airport after midnight by a friendly driver who ensured our experience was as smooth as possible.

For the price we paid, everything was fantastic! One slight disappointment was that the listing showed photos of another apartment, which is almost identical inside but has a balcony facing the sea. Our balcony faced a construction site and other buildings, and we could only enjoy the sea view from the kitchen window. However, this was not a a big deal since we spent most of our time exploring the island and only used the apartment for sleeping and brunch. Still, I'd recommend messaging the property in advance to confirm which side your apartment will face.

Amazing location! The bus stop into Perissa is a 2 minute walk away and the bus stops into Kamari and Fira are a 4 minute walk away! Central location so even if we were staying out late it wasn’t too expensive to get a taxi back. Super lovely and helpful staff who made sure we were enjoying our stay, so quick to answer any questions and helped with questions we had about the island and even gave recommendations! Supermarket round the corner so we had a few nights where we put together our own dinner and ate on the balcony which was so nice! Really clean and everything felt new! Felt very secure and very safe. Me and my girlfriend had the best time in Santorini and we really enjoyed staying here.

Honestly nothing really! A very noisy parrot in one of the neighbouring buildings but obviously this is not a fault with the accommodation. We shut the windows before we went to sleep and it didn’t bother us after that.

This is all a brand new building still being finished. It also had a few new property quirks but the owner was responsive. It is near the bus line so we didn't need to rent a car to see the whole island.

Rather noisy area, roosters, parties next door, etc. but some of that may have been due to our traveling on a holiday weekend.
