The photos on booking.com, and how friendly the staff were with contact and special requests prior to check in. I mistakingly booked premium without telescope when one of the biggest selling points was a telescope.

Where to start... With a name like Telescope Villas, I'd assumed that all villas had telescopes. The telescope was in terrible condition, completely rusty and not at all looked after. Got there, staff were friendly, we went up to our villa to check in and saw that the water in the infinity pool was too low. Because of this the water was stale with no movement and very dirty, there was an old cotton bud floating in the pool. And the pool lamp was hanging off the wall inside the pool with the wire hanging out. Which we said was completely unsafe, and they just kept saying "no it's okay". We told the staff, they sent up a young guy who didn't speak English, to fill the pool with more water but we realised the pump was broken because instead of filling the pool, the infinity drain just started overflowing so we told him to stop and we went back down to reception and they just kept talking in circles. We asked to speak to the manager and they said yes they would call the manager to come down. We ended up waiting for almost 2 hours, being told the manager was coming, the manager was on the way, the manager will be here in 5 mins, the manager will be here in 15 mins only to find out in the end after demanding an answer that no one even heard a response from the manager to begin with. We demanded a full refund and went somewhere else, at 5pm on a Friday evening. Every guest we saw there had something to complain about, 1 couple waited 2 hours to check in to their room even though they were early for check in time, others complained their rooms were dirty, their showers did not work. We were so incredibly disappointed, my boyfriend and I are long distance because of work, we had planned a trip together for a year and this wasted so much of our time. We had booked a spa in kuta which we had to cancel because of this ridiculous ordeal so our plans were ruined. Also, they ask their guests to cancel their booking.

The view and the location were amazing and it's nice to have a private villa. The outside area was nice and the fruit when entering the villa was a nice gesture. Staff was also very friendly.

Don't expect a large villa. The 'villas' are really small. They are made from containers. The swimming pool was also really small and not very clean. I have to say that we didn't mention this during our stay so I think if we did, the crew would have done something to clean the swimming pool. Also, the breakfast could have been better.

Beautiful villa with a breathtaking view of the ocean! It was very clean and the staff was super friendly too. The breakfast and the food at the restaurant was delicious :) However the best part were the two resident cats, they were too cute and cuddly! Would definitely stay here again :)

Nice hotel. Unfortunately through administration errors we were summoned to the reception over the stay late at night to pay the bill, yet it was paid on arrival. Apologies was provided by management though impacted the higher cost (for the area) experience.

The view is amazing from the villa. Everything is super clean especially the bed sheet. I slept very well every night. The rooftop is cute where I can have sunbathe every day. The staff is exceptionally helpful!!!

Nothing to complain but the food, but you can just go to the town to have meals

Location was great; not far from the city by scooter, but far enough to be quiet and have a nice view. The hosts were great, they arranged airport pick-up as well as scooter rental at reasonable rates. Breakfast was very good and brought to the room, communication was good through WhatsApp.

The internet was choppy at times. We had to work so sometimes during meetings we had small hiccups. Nothing major though, and the GSM signal is good enough so you can use your phone as a hotspot with no issues. Also the AC was a bit weak at times; it definitely got hot during the day, and given it was a single unit, the living room part was not getting any cold air. Generally shouldn't be an issue, but since we were also working and had to be home during the day, it made it a bit uncomfortable. If you open the doors, it's really breezy though.

The premium rooms at the top of the building stack are too hot in the warmer months, fully exposed to the sun. No laundry/washing facility
