Sigiriya Elephant Villa

The arriving by car was trouble-free, but the accommodation was not easy to find at first as there are hardly any signs and you have to drive into a small side street where you don't expect there to be any accommodation. Check-in went smoothly, there was even a welcome drink, although it tasted awful. Despite there being a kitchen, no other drinks (for a fee) could be served. The breakfast was a joke, labelled as a breakfast with local specialities, it was just simple things that were served - but even these tasted awful and were inedible for all of us.

Where should I begin, it was pure horror! The accommodation consists of individual small bungalows in the open air on a relatively large site, almost in the middle of the jungle. The facility is very poorly maintained, even not at all. In our bathroom we had a "whirlpool" in which all sorts of creatures and insects have found their new home. In addition, other small animals have also discovered a new home for themselves, because the construction means there are open holes to the outside where anything up to the size of a large rat can easily get into the living area. After running water for a few seconds, frogs came up from the drain and jumped at you. After a night of horror, we left straight away - and the worst thing was that we became extremely ill after that night, something we had never experienced before. We traveled with friends and theirs, in another bungalow, were in the same situation, if not even worse! I would warn anyone not to stay in this accommodation as it is almost like assault. It took us over a week to recover from that one night and get well again!

Very rustic feel , in the middle of nature . Full of trees. Amazing staff. It was decent clean as well.

When u stay in middle of forest area you get monkeys , ants and some insects flying around. . But not too much bothering if you leave them alone.
