Peaceful Soho Apartment

The property was in a quiet neighbourhood, it had all the facilities we needed, and the stovetop was a big plus for us

The carpet was filthy, hair, glitter, just random bits, the glasses were dirty, some had lipstick stains, there was glitter in the bathroom on the floor, the shower holder was broken, it fell to our feet when we tried to pick up the shower head, like someone put it back like "it's a problem for the next tenants" and the owner didn't mind to scan through the apartment even once! Also the room's only windows opened to a 1 square meter awkward space between buildings that was someone's terrace and because the ventilation was so poor in the room, and the air was so dry, we woke up congested every morning. The only way to get some fresh air in was through the door. Good amenities for price but would not stay there again. Also the bar stools for the regular table is a weird choice, they were unstable and it made it really uncomfortable to eat, so we ate most of our meals standing up.

Location

As soon as we entered the house, we were hit by a stale, unpleasant smell. We turned on the light and saw that while the floor had been cleaned, the rug near the bed was full of blonde hairs and dirt. We immediately suspected that it hadn’t been properly cleaned, so we checked the sheets and pillows. The sheets were stained, and the pillows smelled unwashed. We arrived in the room at 10 PM and had no option to move elsewhere, so we removed the sheets and pillow covers, put them in the washing machine, and dried them with a hairdryer until 2 AM. We cleaned the floor and wiped down the dust. The pillows were yellow and smelled bad, so the next day, we had no choice but to buy two new ones because we had to stay in that house for four nights. The furniture wasn’t old, but it was dirty. Worst of all, the host didn’t help us with any of this, only offering a simple, 'I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

Very easy in organizing everything, we liked the privacy and the amenities. There's no TV but we didn't necessarily need one. Great restaurants in the vicinity!

The table is fine by itself but it doesn't work with the high chairs, they're very unconfortable to sit on.

It was spacious, the bed was comfortable and it was overall a good place to stay

In the bathroom, the shower stall is too small, when you take a shower, water goes everywhere.

Nothing.

I wish I never booked this place 😞 Besides the actual issue at hand being the aircon didn’t work, the owner of the property had no desire to try help resolve this or compensate us for a property that didn’t have everything we booked. The responses back had no care towards us but simply he thinks it’s at an acceptable temperature end of story. The heat was so unbearable we had to cut our losses and change to a different airbnb losing all our money.
