"Had big problems with management"

4.0

The place is actually very nice.

When I checked in, the woman who handled it (the daughter of the owner) gave me a key. I locked the door, and went out to dinner. When I returned, I discovered that she gave me a key to a different room. I attempted to contact the owner about this, and she turned off her phone at 7:30 PM. A neighbour came around, took the key, but came back with another key that didn't work. He said "no culpa". I slept in a different room, but having my bags, all my clothing, and my laptop in a room I was locked out of was very inconvenient. The daughter came about 9 AM, and I still had some difficulty explaining to her that being locked out of my room was a big problem. A neighbour was finally able to force the door open with a plastic card. At 8:30 PM the night before I checked out (I had to leave at 6:30 AM to catch the only bus out of Urique) I got messages from the owner about payment. She insisted that I pay in cash. This was a major surprise, because it says on their booking.com page, "credit cards only, no cash". This owner certainly knows that there are no ATM's whatsoever in Urique. Or Cerocahui. Or Bahuichivo. My next destination was Chihuahua, and I said I would go to an Oxxo and do a transfer. This is what happened, but she didn't like it. The quality of this accommodation is good, but the people who run it have some things to learn about running a hospitality business.
