Luxe retreat waterfront

The location of the property is great. The views also looked great from the property balcony. The property is well situated, and the house itself is nice enough. The home cinema is a great idea.

The initial communication from the host was not very proactive. I had to constantly remind them to send details to access the property. Every time I communicated, I had to reintroduce myself on which property im referring to. On arrival at the property, after the 2pm check in, we could not gain access as the person to open for us was the cleaner, and the cleaning was not done. So we waited for that to be done to enter the premises. When we were unpacking groceries, we discovered that the fridge was not working. We waited 3 hours for someone to come fix it, and even then we could cool things from the freezer part, and we had to buy ice. We discovered a couple of leaking places around the house. The sofas are peeling, both in the living room as well as the cinema room. There are very few crockery items. The cupboards were not clean, they had food items from whenever. The worst part was when we didnt have electricity, and we thought we were loadshedding, only to discover that the electricity was finished. The host had not loaded electricity for the weekend. Extremely disappointing on so many levels

Almost all the appliances were not working and the finishings need a major upgrade. Upon check-in we witnessed the very very small “private pool” and small braai area. Our food went off because the fridge was not working, there ants all over the house that went into all our food and beverages. We couldn’t prepare dinner as the braai stand was not working and when we’d try to use the oven the electricity would keep tripping. The air conditioning was not working either upon arrival and mind you it was about 30 degrees outside. Whenever we tried to call management they were giving US maintenance guys numbers to contact the next morning while we’d see had to stay in those conditions. Truly one of the worst stays I’ve ever experienced. Would not recommend because even the management didn’t try to assist us in anyway other than delayed responses that weren’t helpful at all

It is a very beautiful house and I liked everything about it.

The house is beautiful & the view picture perfect. Our host Lele is a true Queen :)

It was a bit of struggle with the gas bottles for cooking for both the stove and gas braai.

the cinema was the best part part of the stay. the house was great but the cinema was the cherry on top

the braai hob wasn’t working. the bunk beds were also an issue. if only there was a way to change or disassemble the bunk beds. Possibly giving an access code for the gate that will last the entirety of the stay for each vehicle so we don’t have to keep requesting codes

The area

The property was not 100% clean and due to the fridge that was not working I had to throw away some of our food as they were rotten. And had to buy more food due to that.
