Tranquil Gozo Farmhouse

The accommodation is well situated on Gozo, clean and has a lovely outdoor pool area with quality sun loungers, umbrella and outdoor furniture. Carparking is on the road and not always available in front of the property, but you will find somewhere to park. The interiors were basic, clean and more than adequate. The bathrooms were clean and modern and the shower downstairs had good water pressure. The owner was responsive in communication and a pleasant person to deal with. We had a few issues to start with, but these were quickly rectified. All in all the farmhouse has everything you need and good spaces to relax and be comfortable. We would stay again. I have been holidaying on Gozo in various farmhouses for the last 12 years - this was my seventh visit.

Upon arrival, it felt like I was endless finding things missing, not working or lacking instruction. I could not find the aircon remotes initially, nor knew how to operate them (I found out later that there was a meter to feed near the entrance door), the tv did not work, nor the microwave and I couldn't figure out whether the oven was gas or electric initially or how to ignite it (I myself do not have a gas oven). A number of appliances such as the kettle, iron, etc had a round pin plug and was not compatible with the three pin plug in the wall, nor had plug adaptors. The kitchen was generally well catered for but the chopping boards were worn and dirty and not fit for use. There was a lack of kitchen cooking utensils. All of these were rectified quickly but it was disappointing to start a holiday that was not free of initial stress. These things I would expect be checked between guests in readiness for incoming guests. There are no insect screens on the windows and in the hot weather it meant not being able to leave windows open at night to take advantage of the cooler evening air. There is aircon in each of the bedrooms but not the living area on the second floor which is where the tv is situated. It was unbearable hot with only electric fans, which were ineffective. Again David was always responsive and fixed everything by around day three of our seven day holiday. I suggested a 'house manual' would be helpful for guests as in how to operate aircon and the gas oven and the general quirks of the house and that inventory and the property is generally checked in readiness for incoming guests.
