Torside Holiday Cottage

Great location. All rooms bar front room 'very well appointed' and in keeping with the house/area

The owner sends a *lot* of information prior to arrival. Some people might like this. I'd prefer the mimumum necessary to park/get in and to have the rest available (and/or sent) after arrival. You park (with a free pass) in a nearby car park. You cannot park outside the house (you can stop there to unload if you can make it down the *very* passage way). This detail was made explicit but a bit buried in the 'directions' sections (which I ignored because like most people I use satnav), whereas it was nowhere as clear in the section headed 'Parking'. There's a low ceiling at the bottom of the stairs. I'm 5"10' and I scalped myself on it. It's OK if you negotiate the stairs at a stately pace, but do not bound up or down them! The furniture in the front room is a bit, er, underwhelming and hard to square with the price we paid. This *may* be a function of Castleton's popularity (plus the location *is* excellent), I can only compare with other similar priced properties I've been to in the UK and abroad.

Fantastic and breathtaking location, very cosy, clean, with everything you need. Really highly recommended.

Torside is a very pretty cottage in a gorgeous village. We were not able to do any walking due to bad weather but we were more than happy to stay cosy at home or in one of the lovely pubs! Lisa was so helpful and kind. We will be back!
