Bunk Guesthouse Hongdae

Wonderful host, great location, lovely common spaces to hang out and socalise with other guests in the guesthouse. My favourite place to stay during my visit in Seoul.

This is a great guesthouse!! Brian is super kind and helpful, and the guesthouse itself is super cute and well-decorated. The location absolutely can't be beat, and there was so much to do within walking distance. It was super reasonably-priced and close to transportation. We were only staying for a few nights, so we didn't participate in many social events, but it was also nice to see lots of advertising for social events, tours, etc provided by the guesthouse. I would definitely come back here in the future!

The only thing I didn't love was the layout of washrooms. There were lots of showers and toilets in our area, but only two bathroom sinks (one with no mirror), and another counter with a mirror for doing makeup/hair. This wasn't a big issue most of the time, but sometimes there was a wait to use the sinks/mirrors.

It was our first time to Korea and the staff were very kind and helpful! Location was convenient, food was a bonus and the stay was very cozy from the decor to music selection. My friend even wanted to know their playlist. We were running a tight schedule but they were very accommodating. Great place for travelers.

Amazing location close to the metro station, easy to go anywhere from there. The area is very lively, full of young people, super safe even at night, close to restaurants, shops, there are a couple of 24/7 mini markets just a few steps away. I stayed at the only female apartment and it was very cozy, clean, with everything you might need. I booked the 4 bed female room: the beds are comfortable and with nice curtains and outlets, good size lockers in the room, bathrooms are outside. Good kitchen to cook. Also really appreciated the breakfast.

It’s not great to meet people, there is not much of a social vibe at all. But it’s good if that’s not what you’re looking for. The reception is basically open only 6 hours a day, if you need anything outside those hours you are on your own, I had to call the emergency number and no one replied. If you plan on being gone during the day you’ll basically never meet them. As long as nothing happens is good. Just something to keep in mind and maybe to work on
