Hostel Puno Backpackers

I was really sick for the altitude and the the Host is been really kind with me and make me stay over the check out time with no problem. I felt safe through the nights and days. A super clean hostel. I loved it

Internet doesn’t work!! Room very cold. Kitchen dirty!

Scam warning! We payed on arrival but the employee did not have the necessary change. She promised the owner would be there in 20 minutes with our return money, but actually she never showed up. We had to ask several times for our money, and they always said the owner would be there later. In my opinion when paying something between 60 and 90 soles with a 100 bill, they should be able to return. Furthermore it should not be our job to ask for our money, they should have kept us updated. When we finally met the owner she charged a much larger amount than we had booked for on booking.com. Her employees had promised us the correct amount earlier, so we are sure there was no error on our side. She was absolutely unfriendly and adamantly insisted and showed us some random price on her phone they did not correspond to the price we got in our confirmation mail. We discussed for some time but had no chance since she already had our money and just returned less. What is more, here price was in dollars but we had payed in PEN. Her price was still much more than what it should have been when converting her USD price to PEN. Felt like an absolute scam, better look for another place. PS: Toilet was clogged and light on nightstand was broken which both isn’t their fault but added to the picture.
