I could see stars from the small terrace. The electric kettle, cutlery in the room helped me. The hotel staff responded quickly.

There was no plate of the hotel name which was shown in the photo sent to me in advance, so I doubted for a moment when the access code of the key box didn't work. I phoned the staff who sent me a different code without apology. The code had been changed without notice. The building is quite old and the keys are gothic. The bathroom light switch on the entrance wall did't work. I again phoned the staff and found the switch was deep inside the bathroom next to the shower booth. The TV was net TV and only showed no signal or the page to pay to watch. I had to ask for the third time the staff and a repair man came late in the night. It didn't't provide ordinery TV programmes anyway, no updated news. If you are not accustomed to such TV, it is quite complicated. The bed cover is very thin. Asked the staff to add more. The shower comes out weakly. A mosquito in the room.

Location is wonderful but the whole city is on the top of the mountain. Of course you take a cable cabin to go down to the beach. The grocery shop is just 50 meters down from the stairs.

The location in Taormina was good, very central and convenient for exploring the town. The host was friendly and provided useful parking information, which helped with arrival.

The building seems to consist entirely of guest rooms, and the walls are extremely thin. You can hear every sound from the rooms next door and above, even normal conversation or coughing. The bathroom had an ant nest and visible mold, and the toilet seat was broken. Access is also difficult, with many steep stairs that make it uncomfortable when carrying luggage.

If you’re lucky with the weather, the rooftop terrace is a lovely spot to relax, with plenty of outdoor seating and a peaceful atmosphere.

Be prepared for a lot of stairs—both to reach the apartment from street level and again once you're inside (there’s no lift). If you have mobility issues or heavy luggage, it will be a challenge. I'm not exaggerating, there are lots of stairs! The apartment itself could benefit from a refresh, as the interior feels very dated and feels previously lived in. As a result, the apartment feels like it could use a thorough deep clean. The shower also tends to lose water pressure during use, and the boiler in the kitchen can be a bit noisy. The shower is very small, so if you're a tall person you will need to bend and crouch.
