Lovely hotel with a gorgeous view across Shanklin to the sea.

The room was a little cramped and making tea in the cupboard was rather challenging! It might be helpful to provide user instructions for the coffee machine as we had to Google them.

Nice surroundings ,comfortable cottage and attentive host.

the owner was intrusive and there wasn’t privacy. she was always there as soon as we moved a meter from our patio into a common garden for all the apartments, she told us to go back to our patio. we couldn’t drink a glass of wine in the common garden and we can’t smoke outside to our private patio.

Great location, around 15-min walking distance to the Shanklin beach, approximately 20-min walking distance to the Shanklin high street, up to 45-min driving distance to any attractions in the IOW. Shanklin is a lovely and peaceful village with many good restaurants, which provide tasty Indian, Thai, Italian and British classical pub food. You can find Chinese take away and Dominos as well in high street. The Clarence House is a lovely and cosy victorian house. There are free off-street parking outside of the house and in the surrounding area. The Beatrice suite we stayed is bright and spacious. Guests are allowed to use the lovely piano room downstairs for dinning.

Breakfast is simple, including a pastry, a bottle of orange juice, and a fruit for one person. Of course you can make coffee at your own room. I am fine with the simple breakfast. But if you expect a hot and rich one, I would advise you having breakfast somewhere else in stead of booking it with the room. We are running out of toilet rolls (2 rolls as a starter pack) on the 4th day of our staying. Unfortunately the extra rolls were not provided and we had to purchase some ourselves.

Great location. Lovely quiet area. Cozy place. The patio and garden was a wonderful addition.

The place was very well equipped; however, would have loved a washing machine as we stayed a week with 2 children. WiFi was also very weak. Double bed mattress needs a mattress topper as I could feel the springs. 2 single beds; however, we're very comfortable for the children.
