Beautiful with modern appointments

Stayed here for one night with my dog on the way back from Cobh and honestly wasn’t sure what to expect, but we were made to feel so welcome from the minute we pulled up. The place is stunning, a beautifully restored old farmhouse with the Galtee Mountains right there in front of you. It’s the kind of place you’d kick yourself for not visiting sooner. Ciara is one of the kindest hosts I’ve come across and a real example of Irish welcoming nature at its best. My dog was treated like a VIP guest, no awkwardness at all. She went out of her way to recommend dog friendly places to eat, things to see, and even pointed us towards the Galtee Mountains for a hike the moment she noticed we were on a road trip. Caught the sunset from up there. Hard to beat. Breakfast the next morning lived up to every review I’d read. The chilli eggs were seriously good, but honestly everything from the granola to the coffee had this je ne sais quoi about it that left you feeling completely refreshed and set up for the day. Proper food done properly. The room itself was spotless, really nicely put together with lovely little touches you wouldn’t expect. You can tell real care and thought goes into every part of this place. Would absolutely come back and the dog would too. 10/10.

That I didn't discovered before.

We had an amazing experience at Barnahown, starting with the lovely warm welcome we received on arrival from Ciara. The interior design of the house is beautiful, warm, and cozy, making for a very comfortable atmosphere. My daughter particularly enjoyed the hot tub! and our little dog loved her stay. The breakfast was delicious and made from locally sourced ingredients. I highly recommend it for anyone but especially those looking for a dog friendly place to stay.

Beautiful spot and great value for money. We really enjoyed the hot tub in the evening. Lots of tea/coffee making facilities in the kitchen and the honesty bar was great too. Breakfast in the morning was amazing.

Breakfast was delicious. Bacon & scrambled eggs from owner Ciaras lovely chickens with a delicious little side dish of a chilli/tomato/cashewnut relish, sourdough toast & coffee yum! It was a very relaxing breakfast chatting with another guest. It was perfect. I was also able to purchase two jars of local Galtee Irish wildflower honey from Ciara. It is excellent also that I could have my little dog stay with me at Barnahown. Thank you Ciara 😍👏🏻.

I have no complaints. Everything was perfect. My stay was wonderful.

The building is beautifully designed and laid out. It's a very comfortable place to stay.

The breakfast was excellent, with a fantastic selection of local products. The accommodation is located in a place that has been renovated with great attention to detail, while maintaining the highest quality and preserving the character of the building. Ciara is a fantastic person and a wonderful host. Staying at her place was a great pleasure. We would gladly return there with our cat.
