The place is very centreally located, minutes away from most of the main area in Tropea. Place is in a cute little alley and its a very quiet areas considering how central it is

Place is in a cute little alley, and its a tranquil areas considering how central it is The place/apartment/room was very old and not well maintained. a lot of old furniture, and wi-fi was very lacking (but partially fixed when flagged to owners)

The location is very central, which made it easy to explore the city on foot. The place was relatively clean – not spotless, but decent – and even though it’s in an old building, it was pleasantly cool inside and didn’t have that typical old, musty smell. That was a big plus, especially considering the summer heat. The host was kind and helpful. She took into account that I don’t eat meat and made a plain omelette just for me, on my last day which I really appreciated.

Breakfast was very limited in terms of variety. There were just a few pieces of omelette, not enough for all guests, some basic cold cuts, a few slices of basic cheese, yogurt, and some sweets, all from the supermarket. Considering we were in Italy – the land of mozzarella, parmesan and mortadella – the offering felt disappointing. Also, even though breakfast is officially served from 8:30 to 10:30 AM, if you show up after 9:30, there’s hardly anything left. On most days I didn’t get to eat anything at all because by the time I arrived, there was nothing left to serve. This aspect definitely needs improvement.

My hosts were so kind and helpful, the building is lovely and quiet, bed was so comfortable, the room was a great size and very clean, the location is PERFECT, the breakfast was so delicious, and I have nothing but wonderful things to stay about this place Residenza Donna Peppina felt like home immediately. I feel so well rested and rejuvenated after my two nights there.

We felt so welcome! The location was amazing and the breakfasts were fabulous. It was a little hard to find because it was tucked away in the old part of town, but it was so close to everything yet incredibly peaceful. A hidden gem, actually!

It is an old building, so there was no lift, and the spaces e.g. staircase, balcony were quite small. But we knew this when we booked - we certainly weren't expecting or wanting a slick, spacious brand new apartment.
