Somadevi Angkor Premium

The hotel is vere, very nice.. facilities are good, it's located at central city. Services staff are wonderful.

Nice hotel, friendly staff and a good location close to the center of Siem Reap. We have been away to visit Angkor Wat and the other temples most of the time, so there is nothing else to say for us.

Somadevi is a well-located and there are many restaurants and shops around the hotel. The pool is lovely and it has ample seating to accommodate all who wish to use it. The breakfast is buffet-style and ample. I'd say it was one of the best breakfasts in all of the 14 places we stayed during our trip. I loved the chocolate croissants when they were available! The room was al little small and it wasn't consistent with the ample lobby and pool area. The bed was comfortable, for us. The spa treatments that my husband and I had were wonderful.

The room was a little dated, considering the modernity of the common areas. We did purchase 3 day tickets to Angkor Wat and our tickets were not in our room on the second morning. My husband does not lose paper - ever! When we asked the hotel if the cleaning staff accidently threw it out they said (and I believe them) that they checked the garbage. There was never any resolve over this issue. The tickets were not found. We were not able to spend our second day in Angkor Wat - which is why we came to Siem Reap. There was never any discussing or management that came to speak to us. Despite the sign by the pool to be quiet - one morning children were screaming at 8 am in the morning (and woke me up) and they continued screaming until 10am. The staff at the front desk knew this and did nothing to ask them to keep the noise down.

The mattresses were too hard for our taste and so we asked for (and received) extra duvets so that we had one each to sleep on as well as one to sleep under. This helped a little but would still prefer a softer mattress to avoid sore spots on hips and shoulders each morning. Towels were a bit too small and quite thin. I like to wrap my head/hair in the hand towel after washing and the provided towel was too small for this. Many of the breakfast food options were luke warm which is not very safe for food hygiene reasons as they appeared to be in the perfect temperature range for bacteria to multiply rapidly (around body temperature).
