DEVery nice host, friendly and helpful. Very clean room. Quiet place. Nice beach nearby and 10 minutes walk the smallest activ church from New Zealand. I enjoyed the stay. Thank you. 😊

IEPerfect spot to stop on the way up the coast! Gorgeous view, lovely big comfortable rooms. Hosts were amazing, even got up at 4am to put on the Scotland v All Blacks game live and watch with my husband!

NZThey gave us a room on the ground level, which was good because of mobility issues. They had a chairlift to use for the stairs, but we opted out.
Very cold room with a concrete floor. There was an oil heater to use, though, which took the edge off.
NZVery caring & committed hosts. Have never experienced better hosts. Bed was heaven (& we're rather fussy about our bed). Spotlessly clean. Warm. Hospitality exceptional and the location was brilliant. Highly recommend

NZI loved the location! The bed was very comfortable. The host was friendly.
Poor communication. The information on booking.com and website and in-room information is inadequate. Nothing about breakfast being available or about how to get to the cafe on foot, which was dangerous with crossing the narrow road bridge and I only discovered a safe way by watching what the locals were doing. There needs to be a warning notice in the room. Also (travelling as a solo woman), I was unable to lock my outside door except on the inside and my room adjoined the rest of the house with doors into the hall from both the room and the bathroom, which weren't lockable. It didn't matter as it seemed quite safe with me the only guest, but it would depend on who other guests were. Maybe the description as 'lodge' should have cued me that this was not a motel. Also, the room was described as ground floor but was up a flight of outside steps. There was a stair lift, but that's not the same as being on the ground floor. I could manage the steps but other guests could find that an issue.
