Freyjugata Apartments by Heimaleiga

The property is in a fantastic location, just a five-minute walk around the corner from Rainbow Street and the city centre. The bed was very comfortable, and the room itself was modern, clean, and well presented. The shower and bathroom facilities were all in good working order, and it was a nice touch to have access to a fridge freezer and kitchen appliances if needed.

The only downside for me was the main entrance door. When entering the code, the door didn’t always open easily with a straight pull — it sometimes required pushing in slightly first, which took a bit of getting used to. I also felt that the door could benefit from a thicker blind or covering. As there is a walkway outside, it was quite easy to see into the apartment, including the bed and bathroom area. As I was travelling alone, this did make me feel a little uncomfortable at times. I ended up using a spare blanket to cover the door for additional privacy. A thicker roller blind on the front door would really improve privacy and make the space feel more secure.

Die Lage ist toll. Die Einrichtung war schlicht, aber es hat mir wirklich an nichts gefehlt. Die Kommunion war auch gut, denn es ist niemand vor Ort. Das Bett war mit einer guten Matratzen ausgestattet. Gute Küchenausstattung.

Das Sofa zum schlafen war akzeptabel. Und das das Haus sehr hellhörig ist. Über uns trampelte ein Kind, aber das kann man schwer beeinflussen, als Vermieter. Es fehlt eine Dunstabzug.

Location near city centre, cozy, well equipped, comfortable.

Ground floor (inside of the room is visible from the street but with curtains available) and noise from the neighbours upstairs.

We had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend this apartment. Everything was excellent from the very beginning—the organisation was smooth and communication was clear and helpful. The apartment itself was very well equipped and had everything you could possibly need, including a washing machine, Nespresso machine, and dishwasher, which made our stay especially comfortable. The location is also perfect, just a few minutes’ walk from the main shopping street in Reykjavik, making it easy to explore the city. Parking near the apartment is a P3, so cheaper than closer to the city center and there are always parking places free around the apartment.

There were just a couple of minor downsides. Some of the guests in the apartments above were quite noisy, especially at night. The sound insulation between apartments could be improved, or perhaps a reminder or rule could be put in place encouraging guests to be more considerate—particularly avoiding moving furniture or walking with hard-soled shoes late at night. Another small issue was the shower setup. The glass partition is quite small, so water tends to spread across the bathroom floor during use. Overall, despite these minor inconveniences, we had an amazing time and would definitely stay here again.

Gli appartamenti erano in una posizione centralissima. A pochi passi dalla chiesa. Stanza piccola e confortevole con tutto il necessario. Bagno carino peccato non ci fossero ganci per appendere gli asciugamani da nessuna parte

Excellent location! Just a 2-minute walk from Hallgrímskirkja and Bus Stop 8, and about a 12–15 minute walk to the BSI bus terminal. There are many restaurants, shops, and coffee spots nearby, yet the apartment is on a quiet street, making it easy to get a good night’s rest. The kitchen is very well equipped with a fridge, washer/dryer combo, dishwasher, microwave, oven, and plenty of utensils. There’s also a balcony where we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights on multiple nights!

Appartamento molto bello e buona posizione

Abbiamo chiesto di poter accedere un ora prima all' appartamento ed era possibile solo pagando un extra di 45 euro. Allora ci siamo attenute all' orario previsto e una volta entrate abbiamo purtroppo constatato che non era stata ancora effettuata la pulizia e siamo quindi dovute stare in giro per altre 2 ore in attesa che venissero fatte.
