Shanti Haveli Beachfront Apartments

The appartment was spacious, living room nicely decorated. Airconditionnning in all rooms. Really nice mountain view from the living room. The Appartment Manager was trying to be helpful and to respond to our several claims - changed the bed sheet of the wrong size for the new ones, received spray against cockroaches. The broken toaster replaced for another one (from another appartment). We were provided with a safe (we did not ask for it) - it was removable - is it really useful?

We were really disappointed from our stay, mainly because of lack of cleanleness. Bathroom: Shower glass doors really dirty. They came to clean it again, used Chlor to desinfect but the layer of dirt and water stone on the gllas door was not removed at all (it could be scrached away - tried with a finger nail). WC seat does not fit to the WC - much smaller - why? Kitchen: Dishes in the cupboard not properly washed - we had to prewash everything we wanted to use. The number of plates, glasses, cups and other dishes really not adapted to the appartment for 6 people. E.g. We were 4 - only 3 small plates. Cleaning staff: dirty sponge and no kitchen cloth or towel available. The kitchen equipment or outside cupboard doors only highlevel clean. Only 1 trash bag for 8 nights - we requested a new one in the middle of the stay - promised and never received. Ants everywere, big cockroaches (6cm) appearing every night even after spraying around BOOM (Raid similar). Bedroom: Bed linen - original bed sheets were a bit smaller than the matress - they were removing themselves just while sitting on the bed. Upon request we got new ones - brand new from the store - without washing them first they were put on the beds. It was quite annoying and ichy on the skin - that was a pity. Common area - corridor - swimming pool: Common corridor had a very dirty floor and stairs - was not cleaned through out the entire week we were there. The swimming pool area was far from being maintenained regularly. The terasse was not fixed properly and there were nails going out from it. Very dangerous for the kids. There were broken sun umbrella and broken outside seats. These were finally removed (not replaced) just before the end of our stay, as well as the terasse was partially fixed (full replacement would be necessary) and green carpet was replaced for a new one, the area was cleaned as well. We were proposed a TV repair (we did not ask about it - we did not test TV during the stay)

The apartment was very convenient and close to the beach. Convenient parking. Spacious apartment.

After meticulous deliberation on which apartment to choose for my holiday, thoroughly scrutinizing profiles on Booking.com, my disappointment upon arriving at Shanti Beach Penthouse Apartment was profound. Contrary to its portrayal, the apartment, situated on the second floor and not third so it wasn't a "penthouse" at all. It lacked any semblance of recent renovation depicted in its misleading profile photos which displays different furniture (so I assume is of a different apartment altogether?). The pervasive lack of cleanliness was evident from streaked and scratched patio windows to an absence of cleaning personnel during my entire five-day stay, ostensibly contributing to an ant infestation (and yes, I know it's a tropical island but there were ants literally on every surface, including the beds!). The kitchen revealed a litany of faults including faulty electrics, kettle (patched with tape), a major leak beneath the sink leading to water damage, and an air conditioning system in the master bedroom inoperable. Additionally, the absence of necessary cables for the television (as there were no cables connecting it to the wall/aerial so you couldn't actually watch anything) and the discomfort of overly firm mattresses compounded the dismal experience. Sadly the power, and therefore wifi, also went off twice (for hours at a time). Notably, the apartment bore conspicuous signs of ceiling water damage, particularly pronounced in the master bedroom, where cracked paint littered the floor, an oversight overlooked prior to my arrival by the cleaning staff. Far from the promised exclusivity, the pool was not "private" (it was communal) and the presence of mold in the bathroom further marred the accommodation. Curiously, the presence of lamps (2 pin type C) throughout the flat were incompatible with the electrical sockets (UK type G) so you couldn't plug them in added another layer of incongruity to an already disheartening stay.
