Belvidere Manor Lagoonside Cottages

Beautiful location, quiet. Very relaxing.

It was great. Just the shower in our room didn’t really work and neither did the electric blanket. But otherwise everything else was amazing.

Self catered

We stayed in cottage 1. It was evident that the owner has no interest beyond the rental income in keeping the interior fresh and of a good standard. The interior of the cottage was shabby. The staff were very friendly and tried to the best of their ability to help, but there was an obvious lack of behind the scenes management with regard’s housekeeping. We arrived to a stove that did not work, reason being after much trouble, the mains had to been switched on prior to our arrival. The drain in the shower was completely blocked, extremely unhygienic. We had to get a contractor in to fix this. The apartment had not been checked for cleanliness by a supervisor, if it had the shower would be clean and the drain unblocked. We have visited and stayed at Belvidere many times in the past, this is the first time we have seen such evident neglect. We were very disappointed

Location as usual was fabulous. Duthie room 1 was the best of the three. Linen was great and bed comfortable. Good TV. We liked that there had been some improvements in the bedroom since our last stay in April. Breakfast was OK. Need a bit more choice. Staff were friendly.

Bathrooms in the Duthie rooms a little tired. The Bell is now closed on Sunday and Monday - was never like that before. We missed Geoffrey. He is an institution and it would be great if he was reinstated.
