Ortigia Suite San Giuseppe

The only thing I liked was the location, nothing more.

There were many things I didn't like, so I'll cut to the chase. The room had poor soundproofing; you could hear every outside sound. The air conditioning was in very poor condition (it was moldy, so it's best not to use it, as it can cause breathing problems). The kitchen equipment was a joke, lacking basic kitchen appliances. Furthermore, if you plug in a lot of electrical appliances in the apartment, using a stove, two chargers, and a TV, you need to be prepared for power outages, as the old electrical system in the apartment trips the fuses, requiring you to go out into the hallway and reset them. We had about five electrical problems in one day, even though we were there for two nights. The icing on the cake was the communication with the apartment owner. After confirming your room reservation, you'll receive information about any additional costs from the owner. For example, €3.50 for towels plus city tax, where normally everything should be deducted in the booking app after purchasing the room, but that's not the case. The price of €99 is €99 + €3.50 + 8 = €110.50. In this price range, you can find 100% better accommodation; the prices listed above are for two nights. Furthermore, the owner is trying to bribe you with a good review in exchange for not charging you for towels, haha. This is a joke. This person is very arrogant, and I've never met a more arrogant person in my travels. I don't recommend this "apartment"....

La posizione e l'accoglienza. Appartamento posto al primo piano di un tipico palazzo siciliano, si affaccia su una piazza tranquilla e in posizione strategica e centrale. Barbara, la proprietaria, si è prodigata in consigli utili per visitare Ortigia ed è sempre stata disponibile a richieste e domande, interagendo con prontezza. Parcheggio privato a pagamento a 50 metri (farsi consigliare da Barbara). Stanza ampia con doppia esposizione. Per farlo diventare un gioiello sarebbero sufficienti piccoli lavori interni di manutenzione ordinaria. 

Everything great. There was an issue in the property that we had booked, so we were upgraded for free to another property! Great service and communication, plus the home was fantastic.

Excellent central location but also quiet. Slept very well, bed very comfortable . Barby responsive with all communication.

Location is amazing, we loved Ortigia a lot! The room is in a lovely and authentic sicilian building.

The pillows were really uncomfortable, too high and firm. We had problems with the electrical system as is was not able to feed hairdryer and heater fan at the same time.

The room was clean and comfortable. It's situated in a great location with windows overlooking the square and historic centre. Communication was good and our host responded to our whats apps promptly.

Although there is a kitchen we were unable to work the induction hotplate and gave up trying to boil water for a coffee. Maybe more detailed instructions would have helped. Also I wonder if our host has bad experiences with guests in the past as we felt the list of 'rules' on the kitchen door didn't really make us feel welcome.

Once booked got constantly hammered with questions and messages. They advertise wifi but is none. They advertise linen but on way to hotel was informed I had to pay extra

The apartment is in a great location, has lots of light and is pretty spacious, the host is very responsive and offers great advice.
