Chalet Royal

Comfortable, but especially managed by excellent staff.

Sound isolation is poor and it can be easily solved (mostly) with an extra door to separate the bedroom from the entrance. You can hear when people talk on the hall, at the reception, on the stairs and all the movement in the breakfast and lounge area upstairs/

The hotel is truly exceptional, offering a perfect stay with an outstanding design that lives up to its star rating. The rooms are impeccably clean, the facilities are top-notch, and the staff are incredibly friendly and always ready to assist with a smile. Every detail of the hotel's ambiance reflects thoughtful care, making it a pleasure to stay here.

However, the breakfast experience did not quite meet the high standards set by the rest of the hotel. The food was mediocre, and the ‘traditional Romanian’ breakfast was underwhelming and felt misleading for visitors seeking an authentic culinary experience. I believe more attention should be given to enhancing the breakfast offerings to align with the exceptional quality of the rest of the hotel. Additionally, the bar area could use some improvement. It lacks a dedicated bartender, which affects the overall experience, as the receptionist is currently responsible for serving drinks. Investing more effort in this area would elevate the guests' experience further.

We spent 2 nights at this chalet, a nice experience, but not great, there is room for improvement in a few aspects. The rooms on the ground floor are small with uncomfortably small bathrooms even for us of standard size. I can't even imagine what it would have been like for someone 1.80-1.90m tall. The room was otherwise nice and clean, the bed was a quality mattress. Breakfast is a la carte, you have about 5 options, the traditional one and the one with eggs Benedict were to our liking. We didn't find a beer/wine opener in the room, they probably had it on request. A very good point was the spa area, sauna and jacuzzi, clean and bookable only for you. The staff on the first day was kind and the female part, the kind and helpful guy on both days, the ladies on the plating day (Sunday) less so, some are simply not made or have not been educated to work in the hospitality business. All in all, the location is beautiful, but too close to the road, I don't think those overlooking the road have the experience of a chalet, the rooms are not soundproof, but at least the staff is probably having fun, 3*+ services at a 5* price. If we were to come back, it would be for the SPA part and certainly for the rooms on the upper floors only, but most likely in this price category we would choose other options.

The hotel was super clean and the staff were so kind and service oriented. It was the best hotel we've been in Romania!!!
