Mermaid Cove - Blue Bay

The best thing about this apartment is its location - literally a two-minute walk to a very nice and quite beach. This made up for everything else. Another positive was communication with the owner - nothing to add here and it was super good. The owner also offers boat trips around and that's something I'd totally recommend. No doubt the apartment looks better in the pictures than in reality and here's why: (1) The AC is only on the first floor where you have the bedrooms but not downstairs. (2) The patio, which at Booking.com has a nice table a chairs and shutters, no longer had anything of it - it turned out the same furniture were to be found upstairs and the paint on the chairs was flaking heavily, not very pleasant in fact. (3) The faucets in the kitchen sink and bathroom washbasin are only for cold water. There, apparently, was hot water in the shower and it fact we had it after contacting the owner (kudos here for responsiveness and addressing all the questions immediately), but then after we came back in and wanted to take a shower, we couldn't get the hot water to run. But we had a short stay here so this was not such a big problem. For longer stays, this would have been problematic and we'd definitely have wanted the owner to address.

The unit was perfect for a lock-up-and-go setup, which made exploring the surrounding areas really convenient. It had everything we needed for a self-catering stay, and the beds were decent and comfortable. Both rooms had their own bathrooms and air-conditioning, which made it even more comfortable. Would definitely recommend!

Perfect location for a couple gateaway. The place is clean and cosy and well maintained. You are 50m from the beach and the place is totally secured. I highly recommend.

Close to the airport. You will hear the planes every now and then but it's no big deal.

walking distance to a very nice beach

it is noisy from 6AM til 11PM due to airplanes flying directly above the house. The bathroom was stinky from the sink. The bathroom door was to be closed with a small bag of sand instead of a properly working door handle. The bed was narrow. It was a little bit pricey for this type of accommodation.

I read all the guests' reviews and host's responses and I was quite anxious to see how this place really was. Let's face it ... We guests are looking for a "perfect place" to stay but for different people "perfection" means different things. Me and my wife stayed in Mermaid Cove 2 nights and an extra 8 hours and we really liked it. Surely ... the apartment would appreciate some maintenance and the kitchen upgrade but on the other hand you are just 100 meters from the incredible beach in a safe gated community. The host was such a nice person. We had a couple smaller issues/comment and he immediately addressed them. We wish we would stay longer. No worries.... We will come back soon.

Overall great experience at Mermaid Cove - the Small Cove is bigger than what it looks like on the pictures. It is an extremely well-equipped apartment with a super cosy vibe - and it is very quiet (except for the occasional sound of the planes taking off/landing). Self-check in is super convenient, and the host was super responsive to our needs. We had a great time and will definitely be back and greatly recommend it. Bonus point is that it’s super close the beach!

The cottage was clean and comfortable and we have a lovely stay. Good location and friendly hosts. We will be back.

If you want accomodation that is near to airport, that could be the one. Beach is very close, so you can take a walk. Area is under camera system. Air con in every bedroom.

And because this is about 10-15 minutes from the airport, that means planes fly above your head. So you hear them pretty enough. Last one at 11pm and first about 4am. I missed clothes dryer. Door lock is not safe at all. The fan is rusty. The railing on the stairs needs to be tightened. And mirrors in the bathrooms are for small people.
