Mahali House

The host was amazing and extremely helpful. We came off Kilimanjaro a day early and they helped arrange a room last minute. Prior to the hike, the staff were friendly and helpful with organizing a meet up with our tour company

Quiet location but not far away from the city, friendly and very helpful staff :)

Clean environment and very nice ambience, free to cook and with all the appliances needed! Wifi works wonderfully and the security guard is an outstanding passionate of the universe in case you want to have an interesting swahili conversation!!!

This hotel is quiet and comfortable to stay at and we loved having access to a kitchen with food processor. However, while the photos depict otherwise, this is an unfinished hotel as of late-December 2024. We do have to give credit to the owners, they fixed everything we reported not working and even installed a ceiling fan to our room.

The hotel pictures and reviews don’t match up with reality. This is an unfinished hotel so there are fewer furnishings than the pictures show and it doesn’t feel homely. The back of the hotel hasn’t been landscaped like the front so you can see piles of rubbish and dirt. There was little privacy in the bathroom with large vented windows that are very easy to see inside, especially at night. No wifi yet and no breakfast served (these were not promised in the hotel description but were alluded to in the reviews). All of these criticisms will hopefully be solved once the hotel is complete.

My stay at Mahali House in Moshi was simply super! From the moment I checked in, I was greeted by the friendly and warm-hearted staff who made me feel instantly welcome. Every team member was extremely helpful and always went above and beyond to ensure my stay was as comfortable as possible. :) Another major plus was the staff's assistance in organizing excursions. Thanks to their helpful tips and excellent arrangements, I was able to go on incredible tours in the surrounding area. Furthermore the kitchen was great to be able to cook our own meals - maybe also great if you want to stay for a longer term. The combination of excellent service, super clean and nice chambers, and fantastic support for excursions makes it the perfect place to stay in Moshi. I highly recommend Mahali House to everyone and am already looking forward to my next visit! :)
