Durban Hotel

The location is central to where I am conducting my activities.

Comfortable beads Clean linen and towels

No hot water They could use a spring clean dusty surfaces

Not to far from the ferry and from the train station

Not a safety place, too noisy, not very clean. I have seen 3 or 4 mousses running on a table when I have opened the doors of the 1st floor restaurant. How such of hotel can be on booking site !!!! I was so terrified to see that !!

I was recommended this hotel by my airport taxi driver - and I am glad that I heeded his advice. I saw some bad reviews for this hotel, so I was hesistant, but I was delighted. The room was good - clean and comfortable; a little small but that's not a problem. The breakfast was the best in Tanzania - many options to choose and you can take as much as you'd like. The restaurant was on a 1st floor, so you can watch the traffic go by as you have your meal. My room was on the 4th floor; it was very peaceful being high above the traffic. I was able to walk up to the very top of the building, where you can get a good panoramic view of the city (11th floor I think) Hotel manager helped me carry my bag to the room. The loation is good, as it's near to everything, such as banks, shops, tourist attractions.

During check-in, I had to sit and wait in the lobby for a long time, for no specified reason. I wish that the plug socket that is adjacent to the bed, was not directly up against the mattress, as it was hard to access it.
