Morika Villa

Very large, spacious villa with separate bedroom and living/dining/kitchen area. The view was just stunning and the villas are perfectly positioned for sunrise which I managed to wake up early enough to catch and was well worth it. The staff were incredible, super helpful, helped me book and tailor activities to my preference. On the last day, there was a bit of a stress with my driver for the airport being very late - they more than made up for this by taking care of checking me in for my flight, having a staff member wait for me at the airport and even upgraded my seat. Prefect stay and I will return for much longer!

The staff go above and beyond to make your stay special and are incredibly welcoming. Like most hotels in Sumba, it is very remote, so tours can be booked through the hotel if you want to get out and about. We really enjoyed going to the local villages and the rice fields, it was very special. Considering this is a remote island where some food may be hard to source, the food selection and quality was above expectations, and prices in line with that, and reasonable. The rooms are large, with an outdoor shower and bath which was a plus! and cleaned daily. Wifi connection was strong enough to work and stream programmes. … oh and the view of the sea was gorgeous!

Slightly bigger portion sizes

The property is in an amazing location, ocean view and sunrise! The staff are incredibly helpful and really went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable! The manager Vivi was incredibly helpful when we were stuck in a tropical storm and she helped organise our rescue. Alingside her, Ririn, Asih, and Vina made our day to day really enjoyable, always accommodating our questions and organising activities for us!! Highly recommend staying in Villa Morika!

We really enjoyed our stay at Morika Villa. The view here is absolutely spectacular, especially during sunrise! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, with large bathrooms and a shared kitchen. What stood out most was the staff. Everyone was super friendly and helpful, always happy to assist with anything like renting a bike or organizing tours. The food at the restaurant was also good, with a variety of dishes to choose from.

Everything was nice

Morika Villa has one of the most breathtaking panoramic views we have ever seen. From your bed, you can watch the sunrise over the mountains and the sea—truly unforgettable. The setup consists of two villas, each with a shared kitchen and living room in the middle, and two rooms on either side. The property is only about two years old, so everything still feels quite new. When we arrived, after a long 9-hour drive, we were warmly welcomed and grateful to cool off with a swim. However, there were a few points that could definitely be improved: And I don´t want to be so harsh, but if feels I need to, because this should NEVER happen again. We were the only guests along with another couple, and unfortunately, it was very obvious that the other guests were given clear priority. There was one table at the pool, and they were served dinner and breakfast there, while we had to sit either in the kitchen inside or up at the restaurant with not such an amazing view. We waited over 1.5 hours for our dinner!! Breakfast was very disappointing: a slice of cheap toast with an avocado spread that tasted overly sweet (almost as if blended with sugar) and a very tiny amount of egg. We had ordered an avocado toast with an omelette and left still feeling hungry. Although we had told them we wanted breakfast at 9:00 AM, it was only ready by 9:30 AM—again, because the other couple was prioritized. We don't know if it was because they were over 60 and we are under 40, or because they stayed two nights and we only one, but honestly, none of that should matter—every guest should be treated equally. Also, at first glance, the room looked clean, but by the evening when you turn on the light we saw many handprints and stains, and worst of all, it looked like the duvet had already been used and just put back on the bed, it was really disgusting. We took photos and reported it, and the staff apologized without denying it, promising to improve in the future. Not really a nice feeling sleeping under not clean duvet, with all the stains. The staff was very friendly and the place has huge potential, but the issue with the duvet cover and the unequal treatment of guests really made that we left disappointed after we arrived so stoked.

The rooms were great . Pool and views amazing. The staff were out of this world . Really know how to look after the guests .

The location and the view were amazing, the rooms are great and the staff is wonderful.

The breakfast is average, and the restaurant prices are really inflated for the area and the quality.
