Kotori House was amazing. A safe haven at the end of the day. My friends and I had plenty of room and all the amenities we could need. Will definitely look into booking again for any future trips to Kyoto. Thank you!

Large and living own house. 5-10 minutes to Kyoto Station.

The living room did not have a comfortable furniture. It was not comfortable to watch TV. The stair is little dangerous. The plates they provide are little old. I did not want to use them.

Very spacious house with more than enough room for our three person group. The location is close to Kyoto Station, which means it is very well connected with Shinkansen and metro. Response time from the landlord was also fast and with clear instructions.

It is a more traditional Japanese style, so be prepared for there to not be any "real" beds. Also, the bench in the living room is a bit small and not very comfortable to sit on for long

Nice clean and compact house in a good location with nice kitchen, it felt like a full Japanese living experience. We walked with suitcases from Kyoto station to the house. Several restaurants and convenience stores were a 10-15 min walk. AEON Mall with supermarket 10-15 min walk to get supplies. Split pack AC units were in kitchen and each bedroom and worked well. The kitchen had a stove top, a "grill oven" which we never figured out, small microwave, small fridge, toaster, filtered water. The wifi was fast and simple and the TV in the kitchen had a amazon fire stick we set up with our account and used for streaming. The host provided power strips but just remember Japan uses two blade plugs (ungrounded US plugs will fit, but US grounded 3 prong plugs still need an adapter).

Besides the two bedrooms with tatami mats, there wasn't a place to "hang out" but the kitchen and all of the furniture was hard wood except two small padded stools. We also didn't realize we'd be sleeping on tatami mats. They were nice but even with padding for mattresses on top, we would have preferred western beds. And it would have been nice to have a translation of the stove and washing machine operation. You will hear the muffled sound of the trains regularly which sounded more like thunder to me but might disturb some people.

The apartment is perfect for a few days or a month! It´s really well located, a lot of space... and it has everything you might need for a nice stay in Kyoto in terms of facilities. I felt I was at home. I would go back there if I need to stay again in Kyoto!

Everything was great. The only "negative" thing is that I got a bit stressed not knowing my entering key until the check in day. I was afraid of not having access to internet to find it out in Kyoto. But everything turned out great at the end!
