Sunset Sands

This hotel is in a perfect position on the beach. It is in easy walking distance from several restaurants and a short tuktuk ride into the busier part of the town. The staff and management are exceptional, happy to cater for your every need. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean and the breakfast choice was excellent. I was concerned after reading some of the previous negative reviews. I can’t help but think they may have stayed at a different hotel. In summary, I would happily choose this hotel when I return to Hikkaduwa in the future.

Excellent location and a shirt tuktuk ride to the busier area. Breakfast was very good with lots of choice and very fresh food. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel is very well run. The manager is very pleasant.

The location was very close to beach, the rooms were big enough. Caretaker Nirosha and other staff were very kind and upgraded our room to sea view on higher floor and took care of our requirements as we were pure vegetarians.

We cannot rate it 5 star property as mentioned on Booking.com. As we have some premium luxury expectation from 5 stars. But it was true value but better what we paid for.

Amazing stay, we loved it. Big rooms, clean and attentive staff. Little bit out of town, but for the better for a chilled beach holiday.

Friendly staff, They have upgraded my room for free. Wow location was amazing , just 1 minute walking distance to beach. Clean and hygiene room and washroom. Best English breakfast which I ever had in Southern Sri Lanka.

Location was really good very peaceful.just cross the road you will reach to the beach.Rooms are very cleaned and big bathroom is very cleaned.staff very good friendly and helpful.Swimming pool is very clean and well maintained.Best valued property for the price.

During our stay at Sunset Sands Hikkaduwa, we had an amazing experience. Selvam, the manager, was incredibly accommodating and always willing to assist us. Even though we were only there for one day, we had a very enjoyable visit. It's a very peaceful location with a lovely rooftop with a view of the sea, a swimming pool, two private jacuzzis, and a beach that's just 100 metres away. The room was ideal very clean—it was spacious, and tidy, and had free WiFi, and functional air conditioning.

100% of the worth which I paid and expected. Fully furnished and cleaned room, walking distance to the beach. They got a beautiful and clean swimming pool to enjoy and rest. Beautiful view from the hotel's roof top. Me and my family were well treated by thel staff and manager Selvam.
